Azan yet sounds, but never now Like Bilal’s, soulfully;

“You remember what Goethe said in the moment of his death [...] 'More light.' Death opens up the way to more light, and carries us to those regions where we stand face to face with eternal Beauty and Truth. I remember the time when I read Goethe's poems with you, and I hope you also remember those happy days when we were so near to each other spiritually speaking.

S.M. Zakir
“Javid, di manakah lagi dapat aku temui
pujangga sepertimu; pemilik kata-kata indah
tetapi adakala datang seperti panah tajam yang menyala
puisimu adalah sejambak bunga pada musim semi
tetapi puisimu juga adalah sebilah belati
pada musim yang lain - datang menikam tanpa belas

(Perjalanan 28)”
S.M. Zakir, Perjalanan Sang Zaman

Seyyed Hossein Nasr
“The reality of the Islamic metaphysical world was not taken seriously despite the fact that Iqbal, who was the ideological founder of Pakistan, had shown much interest in Islamic philosophy, although I do not think that he is really a traditional Islamic philosopher. He himself was influenced by Western philosophy, but at least was intelligent enough to realize the significance of Islamic philosophy. The problem with him was that he did not know Arabic well enough. His Persian was very good, but he could not read all the major texts of Islamic philoso- phy, which are written mostly in Arabic. Nevertheless, he wrote on the development of metaphysics in Persia, and he had some philosophical substance, much more than the other famous reformers who are men- tioned all the time, such as Sir Syed Ahmad Khan or Muh:ammad ‘Abduh.”
Seyyed Hossein Nasr, در جست‌وجو امر قدسی

Ayesha Jalal
“In Iqbal’s view, the only purpose of the state in Islam was to establish a “spiritual democracyâ€ by implementing the principles of equality, solidarity, and freedom that constituted the essence of the Quranic message. It was in “this sense alone that the State in Islam is a theocracy, not in the sense that it was headed by a representative of God on earth who can always screen his despotic will behind his supposed infallibility.”
ayesha jalal , The Struggle for Pakistan: A Muslim Homeland and Global Politics

Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud
“Kau membina bangsa mencipta negara dari tanah terjajah
Hanya dengan kata-kata menghidup jiwa lama terdedah...
Pada hujan pedih menenggelam daya-cipta
Pada kongkongan tafsir agama yang membuat akal buta
Pada ikatan masyarakat yang berkasta-kasta.”
Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud, Mutiara Taman Adabi : Sebuah Puisi Mengenai Agama, Filsafat dan Masyarakat

Ehsan Sehgal
“Iqbal was the great poet in the world history, who wrote the multiple subjects of morality, humanity, philosophy, love, self, revolution and especially religious values as his spiritual concept of beautiful poetry.”
