I dare you to try and read this story and not smile, snicker or laugh out loud. Even Mr. Grumpy Grump Face wouldn't be able to do it. The flying insults, witty banter and sexual tension between Dominic & Ally had me so engrossed I couldn't stop reading...and that's saying something...this book is long. So, just a heads-up, you'll most likely end up with a book hangover, and it will be well worth it.
Ally is barely surviving, working multiple jobs and living on ramen noodles...or less. But you'd never pick up on how hard things are for her because she's sweet and sassy and has such a good attitude. Until you flip her switch. Guess who flipped her switch? Yup, a total stranger who was having a bad day and took it out on her. She never backed down, even though he was the 'customer' and she needed that job. And later, when his mother hired her and all the other employees were bowing and scraping, she refused to back down or quit. Because that's what he wanted her to do.
Grab some popcorn, a mango margarita, and a fan. Prepare to be entertained to within an inch of your life. They lasted much longer than I did as they fought each other and their attraction. I had to giggle-snort when she considered being "Enemies with benefits." The slow burn is delicious but I was searching for some scissors to cut that thread or a match to light it on fire. I could feel their intense chemistry and I couldn't wait for them to give in to their feelings. And when they finally did, I almost got carpal tunnel from waving my fan. The story started out exciting. I really loved the heat and sparks between William and India. She'd been tolerating his insufferable behavior for the past year and she hated her job as his assistant for that reason. I was mentally egging her on when it came to telling him off, he deserved it. How she managed to bite her tongue for so long is a miracle and I was ready for her to let him have it. It was so fun as I visualized and anticipated that eventual event.
I usually like alpha assholes, but I struggled to connect with William. Even William had trouble getting in touch with himself. Who knew all it would take was being stuck in his big ole mansion with a teeny tiny baby to make him realize how unequipped he was to handle his life. How could he possibly manage running his company and taking care of a baby when his assistant quit and he didn't have any help?
Indie had been putting up with her boss for a long time and when she finally had enough she was done. I was so proud of her for quitting and finally standing up to him. But at the same time, I wanted her to say yes when he called for help. How much more fun would it be when he was at her mercy and she could push his buttons for a change, right?
If you read Boss, then you'll remember meeting his brother and father. It's not necessary as this story is a standalone, but if so, you'll enjoy revisiting those fun characters. The book is on the shorter side so everything happens rather quickly. But...it's Katy Evans. Enough said....more

Yes, of course, there is insta-love and insta-lust involved. Yes, some scenarios are highly unlikely. But, this is holiday fiction and that's exactly what I wanted and expected when I started reading. Actually, I have to admit that it was better than I expected. I really enjoyed these stories and it made me want to read more books by these authors.

Both Cole & Lori brought ghosts into their relationship. Painful pasts that come back to haunt them when faced with unexpected challenges. Both were used to dealing with their problems in their own way, but that's no longer an option. They are married now. They are an 'us' and have to learn to share their love and their problems. But no worries, they have an agreement on how to settle their disputes, "fight and fuck." Sounds like a plan, huh? I wonder if Lori plans to be naughty on purpose?
What I really dig about this couple is that they are both lawyers. I really get caught up in their cases and enjoy the suspense as I sit in on their planning meetings and offer my two cents. And then, let's not forget that they always get involved in something much deeper than expected and have to call in Walker Security. I love when that happens, that security team is badass and their women are too.
As I'm sure you've come to expect if you've made it this far in the series, expect the unexpected. Prepare to get excited at what direction the series is going. Make room on your BBF list for even more amazing alpha males that will eventually have their own story to tell. And as always, know that there will be some incredibly strong, smart, and funny women pulling their weight when it comes to the trouble that always seems to find these characters that I adore. I admit, I kinda didn't know what I was in for when I decided to follow a favorite author over to the dark side. But, since discovering Nicole Edwards five years ago, she's not disappointed me yet. I love her writing style and she's taken me to places I would not have ventured otherwise. She made me fall in love with her Walker brothers and gave me a virtual tour of Club Destiny and ever since I haven't shied away from whatever kink she introduced me to in her stories. I'm a willing voyeur, ready to read and learn. And let me tell you, Their Ruthless Sadist was an education I won't soon forget.
I met Zeke in Their Famous Dominant. In that story, he was big, badass and broody but I wasn't fooled. Yes, he's HUGE, being six foot eight inches, two hundred eighty pounds of solid muscle. But, how bad could he be if he's an animal lover, right? I didn't know, but when I learned that he was getting his own book, I was anxious to find out. I was curious about what would make a man determined to close himself off from feeling emotions and seek only to inflict physical pain on those who desire it. He calls it playing, but there is no smiling involved on his part. He's always looking, but so far hasn't found anyone who can handle his idea of pleasure. They all seek him out, his reputation preceding him, but they've all been a disappointment so far. Until them...the cowboy and the pretty boy. Maybe that's what he needed all along, more than one.
Of course, I was mentally matchmaking from the beginning. That's what I do. Being inside Zeke's head, I knew he had closed his heart off. But I'm a hopeless romantic and I was not giving up on him, even though he had given up on himself. There's someone for everyone, right? Or maybe even two someones. Intrigued is an understatement regarding how I felt when I read the synopsis for Their Famous Dominant, the latest installment in the Office Ingtrigue series. I confess, I read it as a standalone, due to time constraints. I even have a pretty paperback on my shelf of the first in the series, but sadly it's still on my TBR.
I was thrilled to learn that Trent was the focus of this story. I had met him while reading the Club Destiny series. He's the one responsible for the BDSM addition to the club Devotion. Not only is he an extremely successful movie star, he's a famous dominant as well. He's highly respected in both areas and as the owner of two BDSM clubs, his kink is no secret. With the paparazzi constantly following him, he has very few secrets. But as I'm sure you guessed, he doesn't give a shit, he has nothing to hide. He's not ashamed of his kink and he doesn't care what anyone thinks. He's a Dom with a capital D, and there's a long line willing to be his s in a D/s relationship. He's used to giving orders and being obeyed by everyone, including his personal assistant.
The female object of his obsession has been on his radar for years. He'd always known that he wanted her, but he just hadn't done anything about it so far. But when the time is right, there's no stopping the train once it's in motion. She didn't stand a chance of being able to resist him, right?

And then, I fell for him too. He was the oh so very efficient personal assistant for one of the most sought-after movie stars in the movie industry. What he wasn't aware of is that he was also one of the most sought-after Doms in the BDSM world as well. Trent did a very good job of keeping his business world separate from his private life. For three years his assistant was not exposed to his kink, Trent referring to him as vanilla. And then, BOOM! Life, as he knew it, changed when his boss decided to introduce him to the dark side...and he liked it.
With so much going on, it's no wonder that this story was much longer than most of her others. The author had a lot of foundation to lay and a lot of instruction was needed for the poor vanilla assistant. He's very likable and amusing. One of my favorites is, "I was going through my limit list one more time. Considering I didn't know half of what this shit was, I've been utilizing my good friend Google. It's safe to say that if the FBI is monitoring my searches, someone's probably going to descend on the building soon."
The many colorful support characters kept me very entertained and intrigued to spend more time with them going forward. I'm anxious to go back and catch up with the earlier installments and I'll definitely be stalking the author for the next story after getting a glimpse in the epilogue of who it will focus on. The characters from the first book in the Dirty Rich series are part of this story, so you'll meet them, but you can comfortably read this one as a standalone. Actually, I'm pretty damn sure if you do, you'll love them and want to go back and read Reese & Cat's story too. So far, both male leads have been lawyers, but with the Dirty Rich title there's no telling where the author might take us next. They also have high profile clients that have exciting events requiring representation and of course it's always great when the Walker Security team gets pulled in too. So many possibilities to look forward to.
Lori is struggling just to survive her very demanding day-to-day responsibilities of working three jobs, paying a mountain of bills, and worrying about her mother. There's no time for anything else in her life and men have not even been on her radar for a long time. Well, I guess he wasn't either, considering she literally ran into him. But now that she's seen him, that faulty radar is working just fine. The signal is very strong and flashing red lights at her. He's taking up space in her head, invading her thoughts and fantasies. Walking away from him was a mistake and she regretted it immediately.
Cole is not a manwhore, but he's not looking for a relationship either. When he's working on a case he puts his everything into it. His job is demanding enough and he doesn't need anything or anyone else to distract him. When he runs into Lori he's struck, literally, by her beauty. He wants to spend some more time with her and tries to convince her to meet him before he leaves town. He's disappointed when she refuses, and he doesn't even have her name to contact her again later.
How exciting it was for me to witness the impact of their first meeting. Of course, my mind went crazy with anticipation and possibilities as I imagined them finally connecting, in spite of Lori's refusal. I knew it was gonna happen, I just didn't know when or how. The pages of my Kindle practically turned themselves as I devoured this story from start to finish with very few breaks in between. Yes, I cursed those necessary but brief interruptions every time they took me away from all the goodness, #BossFantasy #NaughtyAssociate #WithoutLimits #PrinceCharming #Cinderella, etc...
And then there was more goodness in the form of research, suspects, investigations and courtroom drama. Never forget to, "Think beyond the file." I loved these legal eagles together as they challenged each other, fighting to win, angling to be on top...of each other. Their sharp wit and sense of humor were very entertaining, whether they were in the office, the car, the bedroom or in the air. Cole has never lost a case in court, but would he lose her? Would her pride keep her heart on lockdown? Would her determination to dig herself out of her debt without help from anyone be all that she's left with at the end?
I really enjoyed Dirty Rich Cinderella Story and after being introduced to some awesome support characters I'm even more excited to continue the series. I can't wait to see what the author has planned for her readers next. The line forms here......more

Kat is a really fun character that kept me entertained with her amusing internal dialogue. She's a go-getter that is determined to move up the career ladder quickly when she gets hired right out of college as an associate at a prestigious law firm. She lucks out to get teamed up with Jaxon, one of the partners who sees her worth and allows her the freedom to work without constant supervision. Just when she starts to relax and dig into the position, an emergency calls her boss away and she gets thrown to the wolf. Yea, that wolf.
Tristan is the other partner. The sexy beast in a suit who caught her attention before she found out who he was. Now she has to look but not touch. He's making that more and more easy for her to accomplish by misusing his power and making her do menial tasks that have nothing to do with the law. She's become a babysitter and a coffee fetcher. And she's not happy about it...
That's enough teasing to tempt you, right? All you need now is a snack and a beverage as you sit back and wait for the fireworks display that will soon be coming your way once you one-click. Having already met this Big Shot briefly in Sexy Jerk, I was real excited to spend more time with him and learn his story. And I must say, I really enjoyed the way it was told in alternating past/present using both POV's. The author put me inside the heads of both characters and it was an experience that was both exhausting and rewarding. As always I was so invested I wore myself out wishing, waiting and worrying.
This second chance romance was an emotional journey that really touched me. The couple fell in love during college. They were so young, with their whole lives ahead of them. What happened to separate them was unfortunate and my heart hurt for them. I thought they gave up too easy. But they were young with lots of growing up to do. I guess those hard lessons had to be learned over time. And learn they did. The hard way.
Somehow, years later, they ran into each other again. Was it fate? The chemistry is still there, like it never left. Maybe it didn't, maybe it's still there...waiting. Is now their time? Can they get it right the second time around? Did they learn enough to make better choices? Or are they too damaged to overcome their past? Is their love stronger than the guilt that stands between them?
My mind's a mess, but in a good way. All my free advice and cheering from the sidelines was a workout. I had my heart set on things working out a certain way and had to strain mentally to help the characters out. Am I the only reader that does that? No, I didn't think so. It's an interactive process where we hope the author is on the same page and will make our wishes come true. But don't expect me to let the cat out of the bag. She didn't even tell you his name in the synopsis, so I won't either. I'll just let you meet the Big Shot and fall in love with him like I did. I wouldn't want to deprive you of the experience. I read Long For Me as a standalone. I enjoyed the other couples that featured in the story and I'm assuming theirs are the ones the I missed in the first two books. I am definitely intrigued enough to go back and read them to learn their history. I was initially introduced to the works of Stacey Lynn because of my MC Romance addiction. I enjoyed her Nordic Lords MC series, so I decided to check out her Luminous series. I'm glad that I did. I really liked this version of a D/s relationship and I'm intrigued to see how the other couples represented in the series are written.
Rebecca has been working for the same company since graduating from high school. She started as an intern and worked her way up. Well, at least she though she was moving up until she got to her current position as Bennett Ashby's assistant. Yes, he was the boss. The owner of the company. But that didn't excuse his deplorable behavior towards her. She didn't mind him being bossy, but did he have to be an asshole?
She knew she should do a better job of keeping her irritation to herself, but sometimes he provoked her so much that she couldn't help herself. She gave him attitude. She had no choice but to let him push her around in the office, but she was determined to not ever let a man do so outside of work. Having already read the synopsis, I was aware of Abigail's issue from the beginning. My curiosity almost killed me as I waited to learn the details about her condition. I didn't expect to enjoy her character so much, but she won me over almost immediately. Actually, her first contact with the almighty Jayden King resulted in my 'girl crush' This girl who was suffering, broken, struggling to survive and get back up after a devastating event blew my mind...and his. She didn't back down when he was a jerk. She didn't crumble under his cruelty. She didn't bow and scrape to be given a chance at the job she was there to interview for. Nope, she stood up to him and served it right back. I was mentally cheering her on while at the same time thinking to myself what a different approach to making a first impression on a prospective boss. At the same time I was giggle-snorting and thinking, "Don't try this, it only works in fiction."
Jayden was sex in a suit. He was used to women flocking to him and having to fight them off. So much so that he was bored with the process. He was tired of them telling him what they thought he wanted to hear and being so obvious that it took the fun out of the experience. He wanted a challenge and since they weren't providing it, he concentrated on his work, needing the mental stimulation to distract himself. What he needed to be distracted from is something you'll have to learn for yourself. No reason for you to be deprived of the frustration I suffered while waiting to have that little question answered. It's part of the journey that you don't want to miss.

She is is also the one that is there to pick up the pieces when Abby falls apart. When she finds out that Abby told Jayden what he could do with the job that she was there to interview for she sighed with frustration, and acceptance. Knowing that her job as the voice of reason would never be finished. While she was very proud of her sister, she was very aware of Abigail's tendency to speak first and think later. She was concerned for her sister, but at the same time found her sass and confidence to be one of the things she loved most about Abby. So, she laughed, and then she tried to convince her to give it another go.
Jayden was not used to being turned down. Actually, he doesn't remember it ever happening before. Being the successful business man that he was, he found that unacceptable and determined to win her over. Now, out of all the hundreds of applicants for the job, of which he didn't know any of their names, all he could think of was Abigail Davis. But the big question was, which did he want more? Ms. Davis in his office or in his bed? Or maybe...both?
Let me tell you, this story is H-O-T! and it's sad, and it's suspenseful. It kept me totally invested and flipping pages all night long. I couldn't stop reading once I started. I needed answers, and I needed more office sex. I needed more bossy alpha caveman behavior that provoked feisty witty comebacks that resulted in passionate explosions of the best kind. And now that I've turned the last page, I need more Anya Omah in my life. I want more! The line forms here......more

There are villains at work trying to take over the Brandon empire. But Shane has worked too hard to keep it in the family to let that happen. Even though he doesn't approve of the way his father and brother have handled business in the past, he wants to preserve his legacy. He gave up his successful law practice in New York to move back home and save the family company, and he's not gonna let it go now. At least not without a fight. But it's kinda hard to know who to trust when everyone seems to be fighting for a piece of the pie.
Emily is starting to see another darker side to Shane as he's faced with enemies that are threatening his family and his woman.
