As my first experience with the author, I should say that I am quite satisfied. Nick Hornby is masterful in what he has gone through in this fiction. As my first experience with the author, I should say that I am quite satisfied. Nick Hornby is masterful in what he has gone through in this fiction. Not only does the story in whole gets your attention, but also you can be sure you will enjoy each and every piece of it.
The book in itself is a modern clever witty work, depicting characters profoundly and managing associations among them with neat strength. One must make sure not to miss any phrase, I'd say even one word, as they may be directly or indirectly referred to in the upcoming pages/chapters.
All in all, this was what I expected from an English modern novel. I do recommend it....more

This is a two-storyline story, which cohere both lines from a point and goes on very well. The details in this work are smartly chosen and are never wasted. They just get located in the best place too complete a part of story. There are never excessive descriptions in the story, and even sometimes, just a smart hint does the job.

There are utilization of almost dirty language, perhaps to impress the audience, but it has not helped the book be more interesting. It still has some points to show the capabilities of the author, although the language in some parts is not up-to-date at all -I am aware that he has tried to write in an uneasy language....more

The only weak point of the book, which is relatively big in my respect, is its lack of integrity. The writer has started some subjects, but never has ended them, or even continued them. Her scattering writing style sounds a little sloppy -and even more!
However, she has a great feminine view on every aspects and details of what she describes. I like it!
