I found myself learning a lot about the history of France while reading this wonderful historical fiction/action/adventure book. Visiting the city of Carcassonne and learning about the Cathars' lives was both pleasing and horrifying. I did have the added advantage of having an illustrated edition that added some delightful images of the historical buildings and the beautiful countryside. ...more
