It was simply so much fun and something totally different. Just soo enjoyable and pretty spicy. I guess I should read a lot more of Katee Roberts books.
Besides, the Book was not only super enjoyably but also quite short. Instead of a novel sized book you get a novella sized story that not only has fantastic world building and characters. In such s short time you really get to know both the characters, the world and the culture from said world.
I can't wait to read the rest of this series....more

I also don't think I've ever read a romance novel about two lawyers? A kdrama? You bet I've seen multiple, but a romance book about two lawyers? I definitely have not. This also really reminded me of the kdrama love to hate you (not only because of the titles being similar and that I binged both this book & that kdrama) but the main characters also have such a love hate relationship initially. And then they fall soooo hard for each other. Plus both ladies are kickass lawyers even though Victoria (the books female lead) can't compare to Mi-Ran (the kdrama female lead).
I don't know why this review just turned into me gushing about a kdrama instead of this novel??? Lololololololo. The main dude in this book was pretty cute. At times this was a bit tooo on the nose feminist for me. Maybe the whole twitter aspect just made me cringe because twitter makes me cringe xD I also loved the male dude's stepmom that was only a year older than him. Also him having such a loving relationship with not only his stepmom but also his half sisters. That was ADORBS.
Overall not head over heels in love with this novel but it was really entertaining and cute. I really enjoyed reading it. I had a pretty good time when I was reading it. ............. words don't make sense to me at this point ...... pls excuse this mess of a review...more

I didn't care for the romance at all. I also didn't care for the characters. I was absolutely not invested into the story. The same could be said about the smut. The smut did absolutely NOTHING for me. I legit got bored of all the smutty scenes. There was simply no substance to this book at all. A lot of times I've wanted more smutty scenes in novels like these but here I wanted waaaaaaaay less. I've also read a couple of other Monster x Human smutty spicy books and I absolutely adored those. Games with the Orc was sadly not one of them. I'm lowkey appalled at the hype. Maybe it's a me thing but I'm like...... this does not deserve the love it's getting. I'm definitely not reading the sequel.
I've also come to realise that I freaking hated the writing style. Hated doesn't even cover it. Loathed is probably the right word. Not only were the words stav (her favourite way of saying dick) and my sex (the female lead's vagina) some of the author's favourite words ever simply because of the sheer repetition of those two words. But the author also made an orc fucking purr. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? A PURRING ORC? That was truly the sign that I should have burned this book (I mean I won't because I read it on my kindle and I don't wanna set that on fire for obvious reasons but I almost wanted to do it). So yeah the suffering was real. I never thought I would find the word purr in a non-SJM fantasy romance. Guess I was wrong. Like so wrong since it was used a lot as well. #deargodpleacehavepatiencewithme
Also, when I was not even 50% done/through the book I really wanted it to be over. At that point I was so done with the story already. I managed to read until 80% before I started to skim read the rest. I simply could not care at all. I just wanted a better love story (or should I have said an actual live story besides pure lust and sex?), a better book and way less smut. Games with the Orc basically lacked any substance for me and wasn't even a fun romance story. There was only fucking. And there's only so much fucking I can take and this was just an absurd amount.
So yeah...... I would say SKIP IT. You deserve better. You can read better Monster x Human smutty romance novels than this....more

It's full of romance tropes I love (including the mini fake dating, sharing one bed, enemies to lovers trope). I also loved learning more about Brazilian culture, which this book was full off. I loooooved how this book was written from both Lina's & Max' perspective. That truly made this book wonderful. I simply adored our main characters. The side characters were amazing. I just loved everyone! I am so excited to read Dean's book now. I'm really hyped to read from his perspective. Oh and Andrew will forever be the biggest asshole. What a dick.......more

Book two is definitely my favourite out of the three but I gotta admit that this one was a splendid sequel (and finale). My only complaint is that the ending was quite abrupt. The story, and the trilogy overall, deserved an epilogue. Also, I never expected a horse to have become my favourite character. But he truly was my favourite. I was immense sad when he died. Thankfully he was brought back to life. I'm sorry Sascha, even though I liked you somewhat, I'm just incredibly happy that you didn't want to take the 'elixir' of life. If you did my bby funny snarky horse wouldn't have been brought back to life & that would have utterly destroyed me. I mean I wasn't even expecting my bird horse to return to the land of the living but it's the only other option that I will accept now. Besides, Vasya went through such character development. I also would have liked to read about all that spice that happened in the bath house hehehe.
Lastly, thank you my weird mood for suddenly wanting to read the bear and the nightingale because otherwise I would have missed out on this epicness for a lot longer....more

I'm lowkey surprised at how much I loved it. I guess I'm truly a sucker for the fake dating trope. Also, for an adult romance it's a lot more serious I'm lowkey surprised at how much I loved it. I guess I'm truly a sucker for the fake dating trope. Also, for an adult romance it's a lot more serious and not as steamy as one might expect. I guess romance novels like How To Fake It In Hollywood or The Flat Share are just my kind of romance novels.
I initially started reading this book a while ago and randomly decided to pick it up again because sunny weather just screams reading weather for me. And damn it sucked me in right away. I should have been doing a million other things but instead I was reading this book. I honestly feel no shame at all.
I just loved how real, authentic and raw this book was. The romance and our two main characters Grey & Ethan just stole my heart. I lowkey want a spin-off either about the best friend or Mia.
Nothing but love for this and I'm honestly quite sad at the low ratings this book got. This is lowkey what I wished for when I read Beach Read by Emily Henry. This is the heavy romance novel I wanted. I guess the majority of romance readers and I differ on our love for these two books.
Also, me loving this book has truly solidified my believe in how a friend and I have such different opinions on romance novels. I can't imagine her reading this book and loving it. And so far her favourite romance novels have been quite meh to me....more

One thing is that I found the big reveal very predictable. A bit too predictable. Also the whole eppy thing felt very weird to me.
