I'm going to be honest - I nearly abandoned this book several times in third of the book. It's not that it wasn't good. Rather, there were a couple of topics in the book that had me wanting to run the other way. They were too close to home and I didn't know if I was emotionally capable of processing this book. I'm glad I kept on listening to it.
The first words that come to my mind to describe this book are unexpected, clever, and weird. I unexpectedly really liked the story, even though it was very weird and had some potentially hazardous triggers for me. The book was so clever and so interesting that I couldn't stop playing it. I needed to know how the story would play out. I needed to know that Phoebe would be ok in the end.
This book was about the complications and nuance of relationships. It was a character-driven novel with some very awesomely weird characters. Alison Espach got very creative with the characters and how it all came together in the end.

I decided to pick this book up because of my work on my union's negotiations team. This year's negotiations have been frustrating to say the least and I have been letting my emotions come to the surface in some of the conversations with the other side. I found the tips in this book easy to remember and practical. A lot of what Fisher says in this book is not rocket science - they are things that many of us already know. What's helpful about this book for me is to have a protocol for approaching conversations and a toolbox of strategies that are easy to implement.
I took lots of notes on my phone as I listened to this book and I plan to review the notes before going into each negotiations session. I hope that it helps me speak with control, because the universe knows I need it when dealing with the management side!...more

This book was enjoyable, but it was I will pick up any romance set in Scotland. Any chance to find another Jamie Fraser love interest, I will take it!
This book was enjoyable, but it was just ok for me. There wasn't anything in particular that I didn't like, it just was a basic romance. There wasn't anything special about it.
I wish the female narrator's Scottish accent was better.

I have mixed feelings on this book. The first half was underwhelming. I think it was because I wasn’t really feeling the connection between Nina and RI have mixed feelings on this book. The first half was underwhelming. I think it was because I wasn’t really feeling the connection between Nina and Russell for that first half. She was dating other people and I felt that tempered the connection between the two of them a bit.
The second half was more interesting and enjoyable, and more my vibe when it comes to romances.
The sex scenes in this book are sizzling! A++++ for those steamy scenes!
Wesleigh Siobhan is one of my favorite narrators and she did a great job with this one!
