So I dived in..
Nina’s and Ben’s marriage is on the rocks, both as stubborn as the other to admit their wrongs, Nina especially holds onto her anger within a closed fist. Channelling that anger to see her wanting the end of her marriage..
That was until the end of the world happened, and the living died but never stayed dead. And she knew in that instant that she needs Ben, without Ben she wouldn’t survive in this new changed world.
On the cusp of them looking towards the future together, the unthinkable happens and Nina’s worst nightmare unfolds as she has to take the rest of her journey alone.
Instead of carrying onto Ben’s families safe haven she seeks entry into an army encampment where she seeked refuge from the undead amongst other survivors. But things here aren't so cut and dry, it's similar to a concentration camp, the survivors are on minimal rations, barely enough for survival, caught stealing and our banished over the wall where the undead outnumber the living.
This book didn’t pull me in like other books in this genre, I found the heroine hard to connect with, there’s a fine line between being a bitch and being tough, and many times she was just a bitch, so for now I’ll be putting the rest aside until a later date....more

It was even looking like it was going to be 4 or 5 stars. But that bubble burst.
I'm going to do this review in two parts.
First part: So before college I loved this, the meet the stepsister greet, which realy didn't go down to well, which is where the the banter came in full force, the two and fro, the pranks and when it came to one upping of the other. I loved all of it..
And then that bubble burst..
Second part: Then when they hit college together at the same place is where this book lost its appeal for me, it was like I was reading a different book, I didn't really enjoy it as much as the beginning but still persevered and carried on till the end which also kind of felt rushed.
(view spoiler)[Ok first of all the Daddy kink doesn't do it for me, maybe I'm too old but when he asked her to call him daddy in the bedroom what raced through my mind was do guys at this age call their girlfriends mummy in the bedroom too?? Joking or maybe not lol I got the ick..
He became obsessed, unhinged, placing cameras in her dorm room, alpha vibes when guys would talk to her, drugging her to make her over the top horny, many many red flags. She was a virgin, no protection, slept with each other many times, no pregnancy? no pregnancy scare?
Even though this book wasn't for me, give it a shot and I hope you enjoy it xox (hide spoiler)]...more

I kind of had high expectationJumping into this one tonight!! Love the beautiful cover, caught my eye straight away. Then that blurb sealed the deal!!
I kind of had high expectations going into this one, it honestly took me a bit to get into it, past and present often collided that I had to go back to the chapter I was in to see if I was in the past or present time, usually I don't mind this set up too much but with this it just seemed too messy, we'd finally get somewhere in present time then it would jump abruptly back into the past.
Due to the jump in the storyline I also found it hard connecting with the characters.
Sadly this one wasn’t for me. Others have really enjoyed this book, this may also be its me and not the book senario, definitely give this one a go and form your own opinions. I’ve read one other by this author which I enjoyed....more

I enjoyed this, but didn't love it, just a few things I was hoping more of was his side job, I wanted the nitty gritty side of him to show itself more, everyone was afraid of him, a dangerous man to stay away from was whispered from many people's lips, so I found that just a wee bit of a disappointment.
And everything just felt a wee bit insta for me and I'm sorry I don't do insta. She went from hating him to the next instant not, from nothing to the next instant everything so it felt too rushed for me. I needed more build up, more fire works between them, more background info on the both of them, we know nothing about her other than she is a collage student majoring in art.
Vik's works for a man who runs the town and one not to be crossed so when a new drug on the market is on his turf it's up to Viks to bring him down.
Haley despises everything Vik's stands for, she doesn't hide the fact that she can't stand him, it doesn't make it any easier though when he's her boss when she's put herself in the line of danger she's placed under Vik's protection and this is where things go from slow moving to fast paced so we kind of miss that build up between them.
With that cover and title I expected more..
Just because this book fell flat for me, others before me have loved it, as I said I don't do insta.....more

Finding anything unique is becoming like a needle in a haystack. This storyline has been used time and time again. So for me this book didn’t stand out above the rest.
This is usually my go to type of genre where I seek my angsty stabby thrills but this was lacking in that area. The characters were run of the mill, they didn’t grab me by the feels, and I didn’t connect like I was hoping to, It also took me a bit to get used to the authors writing style as in some places it was all over the place and repetitive in others.
At this stage I won’t be reading the next book in this series. ...more

If he can't have her nobody can..And so a love/hate relationship of some sorts starts.. Straight away your pulled into a scene from the likes of #pornhub It’s beyond hot and definitely sets the stage for what’s to come.
This will test your boundaries so be aware of that before you dive into this, depending on your triggers it doesn’t sugar coat things.
These two pushed and pulled until one of them broke and combusted over a leaked tape which was the catalyst of where it all really kicked started things off in this story. It was hard to connect with these two (this is my opinion) mainly because I felt it focused more on their sexual awakening than their actual connection which is where it lost a few stars for me. I didn't get why they hated each other as much as they did? And that alone made it really hard for me to connect with them. Even when she went through a life changing event I still in that moment never found that connection I was hoping for....more

I loved the 1st book which easily got my 5 stars. So going into this my expectations were high! It kick starts us off right where we all fell victim to that cliffy the author threw us over, but that’s not the last of it, because prepare yourselves to fall down another one. This time it involves Knox.
What I love about this is the dark stalker/killer aspect of the storyline. Those times when we’re thrown into our heroine’s traumatic past is where my dark little soul rejoiced.
This one kind of went off kilter and added extra drama which didn’t need to be added, it took the focus off the back bones of the story, being Mr X
And Shi, our victim, survivor came across weak in this book, always not dealing with a situation firsthand and walking away, it just screamed immaturity, it gave me whiplash. But angst lovers will love that, but more than a handful of times it became repetitive making it extremely hard to connect with her. I understood her plight and I could see where the author was going but her backbone and strength didn’t really shine in this book.
I loved the dynamics of these Stone boys, always the protectors, loving her faults and all.
But all in all I’m still invested in this series and want to see how the author wraps it up....more

For this group of friends and the age group they fell under (early twenties) their banter which was always on the sexual topic more often than not became a wee bit too repetitive and a little bit immature for their ages. And because of this I felt like it took it away from me connecting with the heroine and hero fully, and it just missed the mark in that aspect for me, making it really hard for me to push through and actually finish this, though some parts did garner a giggle other times it just fell flat. So for this I'm undecided on my rating. Some parts I loved, especially their childhood memories.

Welcome to 'Wolf Hall Academy' which is located in New Hampshire, a place which isn't a regular school housing run of the mill regular kids, it's where military bred kids and high profile workers have dumped their kids off to attend. This is where Elodie's father, Colonel Stillwater exiled her too, taking her away from the life she knew in Tel Aviv. Making this the last place she wants to be.
All I want to do is complete my assignments, get good grades to appease Colonel Stillwater, and then get the f#ck out of here the moment I've graduated.
Elodie is holding a deep dark secret that she hopes stays buried. Wren has been interest in Elodie even before he first clapped eyes on her. She's his. Slowly he claims her as his, wearing her down until they become more, under the guise of secrecy.
Wren is the stuff of sweet, heavenly dreams, and twisted, terrifying nightmares.
Meet the boys of 'Riot House' the boys who live off campus and have their very own little fortress. 'Wren' He's handsome in the same dangerous way that snakes, and spiders and wolves are beautiful to look at. 'Pax' One look at him and you mistake him for a convict from his tattoos to his shaved head. 'Dashiell' could be mistaken for a librarian with the clothes he wears to the intelligent eyes behind his wire rimmed glasses.
If you ever find find yourself stranded and alone on this road, do not go knocking on that door for help. Whatever you do, no matter the circumstances, do not step foot inside Riot House. For better or worse, you won't come out the same.'
MY THOUGHTS: One look at the cover and I was a goner! Then the synopsis sealed the deal, there I was hoping this would tick all my boxes so my anticipation levels were high when this landed on my kindle. This was long, way longer than I feel it needed to be, the first half didn’t really capture my attention, part of me wanted to put it aside as it was very slow moving and not a lot really occurred. But I persevered. If this was cut down in size it would’ve gotten a five star rating from me, because it had the bones to make a truly spectacular read for me. Also please correct me if I'm wrong, but I got the feeling that Wren had a dark past, it pointed towards him doing despicable things but other than that one incident nothing else was divulged!?! Just over the halfway mark was where things picked up and this is where I connected with the story and the characters, I wanted to read, I needed to see where the author was leading me, throw in a twist and that’s what ticked my box. And I’m glad I carried on.

'TELL ME PRETTY LIES:' Is a full length stepbrother romance novel by Charleigh Rose
This kicked off in the ‘Prologue a funeral is in progress and it’s the first time we’re also introduced to our heroine and hero making out in a barn on the property.
Then we’re literally thrown into the first chapter, everything has changed, the whole story is shrouded in mystery so much so that I was thinking maybe I’d missed a previous book because it just didn’t flow right. It felt rushed and distorted.
I went into this with high hopes, I’ve loved previous works by this author but this one just fell a wee bit short. I didn’t feel their connection, it would’ve worked better if we’d seen their past connection first instead of jumping straight into the bullying which was over before it had really even started which overall left me feeling deflated.
Bully books are generally my kryptonite, where I expect the over abundance of angst and feels to rush at me if done right. This one was more of a soft porn, one look from him and off her clothes came ...more

Going into this I didn’t realise this was part of a series so the beginning for me seemed as though I was missing a chunk of the story (which in retrospect I was) because it didn’t go into their first time together (which was over a year ago) so I missed that previous whole connection they'd had, which reflects in my rating. I needed to feel their connection, I wanted to feel all those forbidden feels that I should've felt, but sadly I didn't.

'DEVILS WITH HALOS' is the first book in Natalie Bennett's 'Malignant' series. It is spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.
The beginning of this gripped me by the throat, my heart rate sped up, my anxiety levels spiked, and I honestly even had to set it aside and restart it back in the morning due to it not being the best subject matter before bed. I could imagine the fear going through these four friends as their vacation takes a turn for the worst. I wanted, needed, screamed for the author just to stay in that scene for a wee bit longer, just to build it up just that little bit more.
Then the kidnapping occurs, I'm still in the zone, full out loving this and what the author has created, but then as I progressed further into the book it all just fell short for me and I'm left feeling just that tad wee bit deflated, like a balloon that's been left abandoned in the sun too long.
It started to feel rushed, scenes were left undeveloped, like a cliffhanger we were left hanging, I needed more information, I also didn't get the heroines and heros connection we were just told they had a previous connection and that was that, I would've liked more background particulars about the two of them since this was their story I just found that part lacking, it almost felt like there was a book before this that I'd missed out on and like a previous book by this author it just didn't tick the box of a full length novel, it was a very quick, short read.
I know it's just seems like I've been pinpointing negatives these are only small things that if developed more would've for me been an outstanding book. Because there were some elements in this book that were really good..
CHURCH: Is the first book in Stylo Fantome’s ‘Church series. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives In this we meet our heroine Emma Hartley and our hero Church Logan.
This was one of my most highly anticipated reads for July..The cover alone made me want to sign up for it, the synopsis and the author sealed the deal.
So here in lies my dilemma.
Two hours later and I'm still wracking my brain trying to make sense of what I'd just read, sometimes it was confusing, I didn't find this dark, though it kind of leaned towards semi dark elements, but didn't fully unleash it's darkness on us, and it did jump from first person to third person frequently which took me some time to get used to as you don't see that displayed often.
I didn't get any feels, so now I'm kind of left in limbo, I loved Church's character in the beginning, the non verbal asshole, god who doesn't like a guy like that, then throw in Emma and I'm the one that needs therapy, I went through a whole range of feelings with this book, but none that really cemented me to the two characters themselves, it was mainly rage towards Margo and her treatment of Emma.
It pains me to say this because I've loved previous works by this author but even though I didn't full out love this book, I did enjoy some elements of it and like readers before me I can't wait to see what path the author takes us down with the next book.
Even though I didn't love this book others before me did, I will say though that this is a unique read, it does have twists and turns, it does keep you on your toes, if this is something you like or even love in a book then I highly suggest you one click this release day.
ONE WEEK: is a full-length standalone, forbidden romance novel, by new to me author ‘Roya Carmen.
Gabriella Moore aka Gabbie has been happily married to her husband who is a thriving bestseller author, or so it seems, she has two beautiful children she adores wholeheartedly, and a life some could only dream about, it seems like she has it all. She also dabbles in mostly still life portraits where her passion lies..
BUT sometimes she feels trapped behind her white picket fence
It started out innocently enough, a connection made on instagram both like minded artists, liking each others work, and an innocent comment on a painting opened up those waves of communication between the two. Then it became daily conversations, facetime, talking on mobiles, to flirting, to wanting to meet, lines were crossed into taboo territory.
Not sure how to write this review up, but here goes a lot of rambling, some parts gave me all the fuzzy fluffies, others gave me hives, sadly I didn't really connect with Gabbie, I couldn't get my head behind her reasoning of wanting to sleep with Eli, stepping out of her marriage for a week, with a hall pass from her husband, to sleep with another guy whilst her husband and two children were a continent away would make most of us fight for what could be salvaged of the marriage, but that isn't how the story goes.
It just didn't come across as believable, I didn't connect with the story emotionally, I didn't connect with Gabbie, a poor bored little housewife, who had everything from the white picket fence, to stability, to 2 gorgeous children. Her reasoning why she wanted to step out of her marriage for one week and given a hall pass to do so from her husband didn't ring true. Her reasoning was it would fix her marriage, came across tic for tac and the author lost me at that stage.
I love, love triangles, cheating books, but they have to be believable, they have to pull on my heartstrings, they have to get my heart and head at war with each other, sadly this lost the mark with me. So many readers, and bloggers before me LOVED this, but that wee conversation she had with her husband could've been removed from the whole story, and we just see her connecting with Eli then this for me would've been a 5 star read for me. But yet again that's not how this story went.
Most really loved this but I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Maybe I'm overthinking this book and not going with the fact that it's just a fictional story, but that right from wrong screamed at me from the get go.
Give this a chance as I said many have rated this highly, it just didn't work for me, and sadly this type of genre is one of my all time favourites.
Obviously the angst is there, the emotional heart strings were tugged at by Eli, I loved his character, the man in the middle, the man who was free and single to sleep with whomever he wanted to, sadly he wanted to sleep with Gabbie just as much as she wanted to with him, but for him it was so much more than f*cking, and it just took Gabbi a wee bit longer to realise that what they had was more.
