Sage fell for Dawson when she was on the rodeo circuit. It wasn't an instant thing. They were friends until finally they tried to be more, only to have Dawson's wife barge in on them. Sage of course runs and never hears from him again until he shows up in her town.
Dawson obviously didn't want to be married. You knew he wasn't just cheating on his wife and I thought it would end up he wasn't married at all. It didn't and yes he definitely should have told Sage. Even if he wanted out of it he shouldn't have done anything until he was divorced, or at the very least been upfront about it. Then when he does come back is he single? Nope, not yet. Not cool. Just leave Sage alone until you can be with her. You know she is upset that she was the other woman. You know she hates that and still you pursue her again before you are free and clear. Really I did like Dawson even though I really shouldn't with his cheating. Yes he didn't love his wife and wanted out, but then get out.
So everything was going along and it wasn't a bad story. I was enjoying it, but not absolutely loving it. It was good. Then suddenly it was over. Everything was resolved right away and it was just way too quick and easy. The book should have been longer and it would have been better.

Paige, Harry and Richard were best mates when they were younger, but as so often happens they kind of drifted apart for various reasons. Harry sort of keeps in touch with Richard, but he hasn't spoken to Paige in a long time. When she calls him out of the blue for help since Richard was arrested for murder he makes his way back to his hometown as quickly as he can. I really enjoyed that aspect of the story. The coming home after a long time away, the catching up with old friends but are they really the same people as they once were? Do you really still know them/can still count on them? It was an interesting read.
Now they are sure Richard did not kill anyone, but when they were younger Harry and Richard did find a dead body one day so that is getting dragged up again. It was a bit odd how it kept coming up, like if he killed this person presently then maybe he killed the kid twenty years ago as well! But it also made sense in the small town. It was fun watching Paige and Harry try to figure out what happened and clear Richard's name.

Is that really a correct spelling for that? I tried searching for carmel since I have never seen it spelled that way and only got the did you mean caramel? results. That is bad to have a misspelling in your title...How did that happen? Someone please let me know if I am mistaken and there is a way to spell caramel as carmel. That is just bad.
Now onto the story. It was not my favorite. Rachel is a little too young for me. Or really she acts too young for me. She is obviously attracted to Eli, but is just like but I knew him all my life. I can't like him right? Um sure? Then suddenly she is just all over him. It was odd pacing for me throughout the story. Things just happened and I didn't really care about anything. Brother gets in trouble? I don't really care. Well that is not completely true, he doesn't really get in that much trouble it seems even though he should be in serious serious trouble for what he did. That is not something I take lightly at all and well...he is just lucky it was not worse. Still he didn't see many repercussions from his actions.
Hmm what else....well the mom. I thought she was going to have some horrible thing that was going to kill her soon. I was pretty sure she was dying. When I found out what she had I thought oh, is that all? Okay, she can get help with that. Not that it is not bad, it is just not killing her immediately.
It was an odd read. I didn't care about any of the characters or what happened as it didn't make me. Also, Rachel was very immature which grated on me a bit. Oh well, it was a quick read.

Tap That was so much fun! I had read both of these authors before so when I saw that they were writing a story together I knew I needed to read it. And it did not disappoint. Callie and Reid have that whole hate each other but really like each other thing going on. And I loved it!
Callie needs her job at the microbrewery. She doesn't know what she will do if she loses it, but she is not going to lose it. Even though she hates beer she can do this job. She is sure of it. Even if she does get herself in some pretty humorous situations.
Reid wants the promotion to manager at the microbrewery where he has been working forever. He knows his stuff, he is a great worker, he knows he can do this. Only his boss brings in an outsider to train for the position. Callie. He will do whatever it takes to get what should have been his, no matter that he is super attracted to her. That he kind of wants to make out with her and starts to like her and all that. No, he has to keep his eye on the prize. And that gets a bit messy.
I loved Callie and Reid together. They both want the same job and Reid was not the nicest when they start out. He knows Callie's secrets, and she really shouldn't like him, but he is also secretly so sweet and kind and caring. He is kind of wonderful and his mysterious Thursday nights don't help her keep her distance. And Callie is a sweetheart even if Reid is a bit of a jerk. When they start to get closer they were wonderful together. Of course they can't date or anything, no fraternizing at work, but how can they keep away? They were a lot of fun and it takes some of them a bit of time to figure out what they need to do, what is right in front of them, what is really important, but in the end it is worth it. Because these two were meant to be together they just have to figure everything else out first.

I love old timey romances and I love holiday reads so an old timey holiday read is the best! A Christmas Code had all of the old timey fun I love as well as some Christmas magic to make it that much better. This is the first I have read from this author, but I am going to check out more of their work as this was a lot of fun to read.
Gwyneth has always had a huge crush on Ash. They grew up together, but Gwyneth wants to show him that she is not that little girl anymore. That they are meant for each other. Every single guy seems to want her attention, but she only wants Ash. Ash who is a spy. Ash who doesn't want Gwyneth anywhere near the dangerous missions he is on. Ash who wants to keep her safe.
Ash was definitely protective of Gwyneth. He knows she is smart and capable, but he doesn't know what he will do if she would get hurt because of him. She was so fun. She wants to be a part of Ash's life and wants to help with his spy work. She notices a lot, no one would suspect her, she could be good at it if she learns what to do. When these two get mixed up in an assassination attempt things get a little tricky. Luckily they are both there for the other and with a bit of Christmas magic maybe everything will work out the way they both want.
I really enjoyed this read. I love the spies, I love Gwyneth and Ash, I loved everything about it. It was just a really fun holiday adventure....more

The Perfect Home is a light, quick, fun read. I enjoyed this one even if the character at times didn't make much sense to me.
This story is told from the point of view of June, a divorced mom of two college-age kids. Now we are in June's head the entire time so we get to see what she is thinking the whole time and well...June is one of those busy body neighbors, she is always thinking and judging other people so she is not the most likable character, but she doesn't really act on her thoughts. She lets everyone walk all over her which did get frustrating. I don't know if the kids know why their parents got divorced, but it would be hard not to notice, but even if they don't know it doesn't make any sense the way they treated their mom. They kept getting on the mom's case for trying to have boundaries with her ex, their dad. At one point she finds out the ex stole 250 euros from her and maxed out her credit card without telling her! She only found out because she hardly ever uses her credit card, but she wanted to buy something and the charge wouldn't go through. When she confronts her ex about it he is all what is the big deal? It is a loan! Don't you want me to be successful? And the kids side with the dad that it is no big deal that he stole hundreds, maybe thousands of euros from her. Like who doesn't think that is a big deal? And who thinks the person who was stolen from is in the wrong? It made no sense. The ex constantly steamrolls over June and gets whatever he wants. A key to the house so he can keep his work stuff there and pop in for a tea whenever he wants, even if no one is home? Yeah sure why not. The kids throw a fit when she hesitates to give a key to her house to her ex which...I wouldn't want him to be able to come and go as he pleases either! He isn't owed anything, especially when he starts trying to threaten June so he can get what he wants.
Really the kids and ex and most of the characters made no sense a lot of the time. Like the daughter's storyline was ridiculous to an extreme. Sure this could happen I guess, but really? In such a short amount of time? It was all a bit over the top. The ending didn't make much sense either. You find out who was doing all the things and what was going on, but there were still more things that were messed up that happened and it was like all of a sudden oh, well that is fine now. Everything is wonderful again. The things that June had major issues with just somehow weren't a problem anymore? It made no sense. I still had issues with it, other characters should have had an issue with it, June should have still had an issue with it. It was strange.
Now I know this is all very negative, but it was actually a fun read even if the characters acted oddly. Even if June was a doormat the entire time. Even if you could guess who was doing the things. It kept me engaged, it was light and fun and I would read more from the author.

I loved getting more of Charlie and the gang. In this installment they reach a settlement and try to have a bit of a "safe" space. I did enjoy getting to know these characters more and we get chapters from all of our main group (Charlie, Kalila, Trey, and Ellie!). I especially enjoyed the Ellie chapters as I liked seeing what she was thinking and doing and all the things!
We also get some great new characters (I loved Horatio!) and some new troubles of course. All in all another fun read. I read the first one and jumped right into this one and my only complaint is that I now have to wait for more! I can't wait to see what happens next!

I really loved the slightly different take on zombies and the world the author created. I enjoyed how everything came about, how there are different levels of infection and immunity and everything. I also loved the voice of our main character Charlie. He is more laid back, having fun in the zombie apocalypse kind of person but also a super sweetheart. I loved that. He was so kind and caring and was great to read. He was so much fun to read.
Now when the book opens he is living in this loose knit community of survivors and scavenging for things they need. Of course some issues come up and I loved the ending, though I am hoping we find out more in the next book because I do have some questions. But the zombies were really interesting and I loved all the characters. I can't wait to read the next book and see what happens.
