1.) A Court of Thorns and Roses ★★★★
[2023 reread] ★★
for years and years, i have said this was sjm’s best book and the only book of hers that i had given five stars to >.< !! i fully thought i would give this five stars again upon reread, but here we are with a three star rating and a lot of feelings. but i had a lot of fun with this, and i truly do think this book is doing and talking about a lot of important things and i never want to lessen that! but as far as enjoyment goes, i just didn’t have as good of a time rereading this, which shocked me extra, because i had such a good time rereading acotar last month!
i loved seeing the inner circle for the first time once again, and truly i love those characters so much. amren, morrigan, azriel, cassian, it was just great being back with them in velaris (iykyk - this was the biggest reason i wanted to reread this series), and i adored every scene with nesta and elain. but honestly, i think for me the side characters just all really outshined feyre and rhysand and their romance - i can’t believe i typed that, but it is true. sjm’s books are always too long, but jesus did this one feel extra long sometimes. ahhhhh, i still think the end of this book is five star worthy. i remember losing my mind finishing that last chapter seven years ago lol. and i know mor and nesta are five star worthy on their own! and i just really love exploring all the new courts and places in this world, too! i am obviously a little disappointed, but i am still very excited to reread acowar... hopefully soon!
trigger + content warnings: ptsd depictions, trauma, murder, death, blood, vomit, nightmares, captivity, panic attacks, slavery, talk of weight loss, heavy war themes and talk of war, abuse and domestic abuse, invasion of mind magically, mentions and talk of rape in past, depression depiction, suicidal thoughts, torture, heavy child abuse in past, drugging, less of parents in past

Thank you so very much! I went into this with such low hopes and expectations, and I was just blindsided by the happiness I felt when I saw it was actually going "my way", haha! I can't wait to read your review, Alienor! <3

Thank you so very much! I went into this with such low hopes and expectations..."
SAME! Everything I wanted and even more :D

Sammmmme, therefore, I think you will absolutely love this, Olya! YOU MUST WRITE TO ME AFTER CHAPTER 54 SO WE CAN FANGIRL TOGETHER <3333. It's been 24 hours and I'm STILL not over it! Ahhhhh! >^.^<

Oh my gosh, Marianne! You're a genius!

I am very curious, too! I'll be honest, I was sad when I heard she is adding on to both series, but maybe she will surprise me! <3

Thank you so much, Stephanie! Same, I am so excited! <3 xo

I feel you completely! So many emotions! ;___;

Hahaha, I'm sorry, love! I do think the second book (this one) is much better than the first one! But hopefully you have an amazing read soon! Happy New Year! <3 xo

I swear, I end up writing that sentence in EVERY one of her books. I need to just accept it at this point, haha. <3 xo

This is me. I honestly turn into a huge pile of goo just thinking about Rhy! <333 xo

I think you'd REALLY like it, Natalie! But book two is WAY better than book one! <3 xo

Thank you so much, Coco! It means so very much to me! <3 xx

Hahaha! Me too! We shall find out tomorrow! Ahhhh! 💖xx

Thank you so much, Lynn! Yeah, I'm not sure I'm emotionally prepared for starting ACOWAR tonight at midnight! 💖 xo

Very strong side characters as you describe well. Thank you.

Oh my gosh, how crazy is it that ACOFAS is coming out now, a year later? Hehe! 💖xx

Ahhh, Yes, Zenki! I must reread chapter 54 AT LEAST before ACOFAS next week! 💖xx

Awh, Maria, thank YOU so much for this comment. Even though I'm terrible and just now seeing it! But it truly warmed my heart, and made me even more excited for ACOFAS next week! 💖xx
