Infinity (Chronicles of Nick, #1)

Oh that was entertaining!!! This is also the first book I ready from Mrs Kenyon, yeah I know - shame on me. But I think I'm glad I started with her YA series before digging into the mature stuff. ;)
The cover always crabbed me but somehow I never picked it up, I guess I was afraid when I read Nick is supposed to be 14 and this sounds more MG than YA to me - but..duhh! I'm glad I did now, I truly enjoyed myself and I will most definitely go and buy the next one right away.
This is the very rich story about Nick and his struggle against evil and his true self, although he has no clue yet what that means. He's a poor kid that lives with his mum, his dad is an evil psychopath that is in jail. He has a scholarship to go to a school full of rick kids. And yeah, they are not very nice to him.
Nik's voice is awesome and super funny. His sarcasm and snarkiness totally got me and I found myself smiling at this smart ass :) He definitely doesn't take crap from anyone and is too smart for his own good. But. the way he deeply cares about his mom is wonderful!
Nik finds himself suddenly in a world full of paranormal creatures and it is happening all way too fast for him to grab. Also, apparently he is something special too although he doesn't want to believe it. Many creatures want to get a hold of him and according to a some sources if he turns evil he will doom the world. So, the good people want to do anything to prevent this. Still, Nik has no clue about all of this!
This is one of those stories that move forward merciless and are thick with new developments fast. I love such rich stories, they keep you on edge all the time. Also, she created a world full of Demons, Shifters, Vampires and ancient gods. I love when an author is able to create a world that big.
But what I loved most is Nik! I loved his sense of humor, his braveness and his sarcasm! Now, excuse me, I go and read the next one!!

I just bought Invincible so I'll be reading it sometime soon, also.
Great review. :)
