did not like it
bookshelves: own, could-t-bring-myself-to-finish, dystopian, young-adult, teen-romance, reviewed

I tried I really did, I loved Before I fall, and this book sounded so great, but I couldn't bring myself to get past the first 100 pages. This book is probably good for some people, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Lisa Completely agree with you Sita. I'm about 19% through (Kindle) and I'm really struggling. I might set it aside and keep coming back to it inbetween books as I've already finished another book since I started reading Delirium.

Sita Yeah, I had really high expectations for this book and it was such a let down. Maybe I'll come back to it in a few months. Its just sitting on my shelf.

Sita It was good.

Julianne Haines TRY AGAIN!! I felt the same as you, almost gave up when I got too 100. It may take a little bit, but when you finish the story you'll just be...speechless. Not many books have impacted me the way this one has. I beg of you, finish the story.

Angela Schlosser Same here. Exactly! I made it halfway and just couldn't make it any further. I guess I could try and pick it up again someday but it was tiring me trying to read something I was not into.

I had the same problem with this. I'd pick it up and couldn't make it past a certain point.

It took me three times before I could actually read the whole book. Try again and I think you'll like the book.

Endrina I have to admit i thought the same but it gets kinda interesting on page 300 I think, and i agree with you, this autor talks too much about useless things

Caroline I was unimpressed with the first 50 pages, then the story picked up, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Try it again.

Stacey Judd I came on good reads to see if I was the only one feeling this way about this book. I have tried and tried but its not doing it for me.

Caitlyn For the first about 150 pages I was bored and wanted to put the book down. But trust me, it gets better! I'm about half way through the book now

message 13: by Reem (new) - rated it 5 stars

Reem WHAT! this book is the best book ive read. how could you not finish it!
dislike dislike dislike.

Fernanda Having a hard time finishing it as well and I can usually get through a book pretty fast, sadly, not this one so far. I just stare at it and wonder when I am going to finish it if ever...

Zarine I actually forced myself to finish it just because Lauren Oliver wrote it. I absolutely loved Before I Fall too and for me, this book cannot be compared with it. I read Pandemonium as well and it did get better. I think the problem is that there were high expectations and they just weren't met. It's just like J.K Rowling with the Harry Potter series and The Casual Vacancy. As long as your expectations are low, you'll be fine.

Lucy Dunphy It gets better farther in!

message 17: by Lucy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lucy Dunphy And the second book is even better!

message 18: by Kasaundra (new)

Kasaundra I totally agree with you, I could not bring myself to read past the first hundred pages. I am a fan of dystopian, so I thought that I would like this book, but honestly, I think that it was the fact that they were being cured of love that turned me away. I understand that she probably ends up not being cured, but I couldn't read that far.

Rayandra I'm usually easy to please when it comes to YA genre but I'm really struggling with this one. 19% and I'm really forcing myself to like it. I hate to abandon a book even when they suck. I just wanted to see if someone else are having the same thoughts about this book as I am. I'm glad I found these comments. I will continue to read it and really hope it gets better.

Fenna Rademaker same here! everyone kept telling me to read this book because it was supposed to be so awesome. It took me ages to get through, and in the end i didn't even like Lena. I guess I sort of hated her, no offense. She's just so weak, and since i suppose that that's kinda the point, i didn't really like this book.

Meqmeqka I just want to give up. I already started skimming most pages without dialogue. Maybe it's the writing style? Why I got through three full trilogies in a month and then this book came along and makes me remember why I used to hate reading.

Zsuzsa I felt the same...i was bored...

Treehugger It was boring. 90% of this book is just a monologue.

message 24: by Sam (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sam its get better farther in. I like how you mentioned that this book is good for some people even if you did not like it.
