Reading this now! Love that there's a list of characters at the beginning for when I get the similar names mixed up
I begun also this book , hopefully I will like it the same as The Idiot
Russian works need time and patience, and you certainly can't binge read them!
I highly recommend a chapter a day of this - it's not too much and you will finish it. Probably not by the end of August, though.
I read it this year after having it on my shelves for more than 20 years, I was surprised how readable it was�
I feel you. Couldn't finish it... just yet :) Has been sitting on my shelves for 3 years now. I appreciated the list of characters though. Otherwise it would be impossible.
During and after reading Crime and Punishment, the conflicts in my mind kept on increasing instead of getting resolved. What is life like after all? Simple and at the same time logical like Razumikhin or dull, rebellious and nihilist like Raskolnikov. We do not reach any decision. Where on one hand rebellion makes us unique and on the other hand conformity makes us feel very weak and insignificant.
