did not like it

Certainly not life changing or anything. The plot was hard to follow and the editing was horrible. The characters were painfully one-dimensional and this Jesus guy delivered some of the worst dialogue I've ever read. All in all I found it too long and it took itself way too seriously. The fact that it sells so well is beyond me and the way people hold it up you'd think God himself had written the damn thing.

message 3: by Billy (new)

Billy " the way people hold it up you'd think God himself had written the damn thing." Thanks for the best laugh (so far) of 2011! Still chuckling...

Daniel It's not a story it all happend, there's no 'plot' and you can say as much as you like the people who wrote the bible where diciples of, and they were writing the word of god. So actually you could say it was written by God.

Toyin OMGosh man! "Delivered the worst dialogue" my butt! JESES DIED FOR YOU!!!!!!! And all you can say is "Oh, bad dialogue. And oh, to long and serious." BUMP DAT!

message 6: by Timothy (new)

Timothy Ware I wish I could like this twice....

Titus2teen What is wrong you people!?! This is how the world came to be! This is the history of the world! You may not like it, but you can't change history: You can't change the fact that JFK got shot! You can't change the fact that the WW1 and WW2 happened! But guess what? YOU CAN'T CHANGE IT!!! Wake up, realize the connections between the Holy Bible and the real world! Please! Come on people, PLEASE!!

Despair Speaking Um. I can understand why you don't like it but this technically cannot be edited since the translators were trying to stay loyal to the book and there weren't really editors back then. This is also made up of different stories so there's no definite plot save for some underlying themes. Besides, way back then people have the tendency to use ten words when one would so fine so... But otherwise your opinion is acceptable.

message 9: by Melissa (new)

Melissa omg. I love this book but your review I love more! Great! I love a critic when it is reasonable like yours. Did you read "a crossing or the drop's history" by Anatoliy Obraztsov?

message 12: by Cherie (new)

Cherie Titus, so you have proof that all the stuff in the bible actually happened, do you? Please I think I speak for everybody when I say, good for you. Go present your evidence and claim your Nobel prize for proving the existence of God. Congratulations.

message 13: by Kathy (new) - rated it 1 star

Kathy Stevens I thought Lethal Weapon was a far better movie

message 41: by Virginia (new)

Virginia “This Jesus guy died for you and loves you very much. His story is not a work of fiction. If you actually read the Bible, then you would know that its words are indeed self-attesting and from God (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1: 20-21).

message 42: by Thom (new)

Thom L @Virginia This jesus guy sounds like he has a screw loose if he randomly loves people he never met

message 43: by Virginia (new)

Virginia @Thom Psalm 139 says that God “fearfully and wonderfully made each individual. He knows everything about you, even down to your very thoughts. Jesus, since He is omniscient and all-knowing and everyone’s Creator, has met everyone. He loves you.

message 44: by Leo (new) - added it

message 45: by Aliyah Grace (new)

Aliyah Grace LOL LEO

message 46: by Erik (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erik Satie @LeoKudo this God loves you lol

message 47: by Virginia (new)

Virginia Definition of stalker: a person who harasses and persecutes someone with unwanted or obsessive attention.
God neither harasses or persecutes you. He’s not watching you because He wants a show. He wants your heart. He loves you and wants you to know about it.

Brittsky @Virginia sounds like someone I know in the comments of a review waxing poetic about Bible trivia

message 49: by Marieke (new)

Marieke @Virginia omfg wait that reminds me of one of my favorite book characters Edward Cullen except i doubt god has Edward music taste or abs 👅💦

message 50: by Madison (new)

Madison Nix I love reading reviews like this. It makes me realize I'm not the only skeptical person.
