really liked it

THE HYPE IS REAL!

I always prefer to decide for myself if the new overhyped YA book is worth it... and I'm happy to say that this new Fantasy book totally was!

I loved the magic system, the world, the characters and cannot wait for the next book!

My only complain is with the romance. I hate romance. I hate how everyone needs to be paired up especially in YA and how cheesy it is. I kinda wish this series was adult instead but if you're looking for a book you'll fly through I totally recommend this one!

Will impatiently wait for book #2!

Diane Wallace Nice review, Emily!

Monique V if this series was an adult series it would be out of this world!!

message 3: by Marsha28 (new)

Marsha28 Can't wait to see your new video about this book soon!!!

message 4: by Dakota (new)

♡ Dakota ♡ (Sarcasm is my middle name) That settles it! Emily agrees the hype is real on a YA Fantasy Novel. This means I must get it

Ella G your reviews are always nice and short, and most importantly very honest. found many books thanks to your reviews.

Veronique This is exactly how I thought of the book
The romances were so insta love and not really character build

message 7: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer J. As long as the romance doesn’t take over the plot I’m good 👌

message 8: by Cristina (new) - added it

Cristina Really? I was hesitant to read this because I get disappointed so often with YA, but I trust you so I'll give it a try!

hannah I'm finishing this book now and I totally agree re: the romance. It was the thing that held back the story for me, but I love the world and the magic system.

Haley I had literally the exact same reaction. Take out the main characters love interest (like his character as a whole honestly) and the story would have been 5 stars for me.

DarthVixReads Totally trust your opinion so I can’t wait to read this!

message 12: by Kim (new)

Kim I wasn’t going to read this any time soon but well now I’m here thinking “Well, if Emily liked it... 😆 I’m going to give another book you recommended a go first and then we’ll see.

putri Couldn't agree more. I just thought the romance was unnecessary and a bit weird.
But other than that, I loved it.

Aqsa I'm looking forward to this one!

Amanda Only got through this by skimming. The pacing issues and cliches made it almost impossible to enjoy.

message 16: by Carla (new) - added it

Carla Ramirez This is still a must read for me! The whole synopsis is just amazing

message 17: by Courtney (new) - added it

Courtney I thought I was the only on. I HATE ROMANCE. ESPECIALLY IN YA.

Marlou I'm so glad more people had issues with the romance plot. I was afraid I was the only one who wanted to put the book away because of that. And great review, Emily! :)

Griselda ooph, YA romances are not always good. How do you think this one faired out?

Melisa Lewis I thought the romance between 2 characters helped us see the internal struggle for at least one of the main characters. I don't want to give any spoilers, hope I'm not being too vague.
