Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, #4)

The plot was just too bizarre. It was totally unexpected... in a bad way.
Overall, I was disappointed with this book -- but it's hard to live up to all the hype I suppose.
SPOILER WARNING
Things I liked:
1) I liked that Bella became a vampire, and that wasn't where the book ended.
2) I really liked the explanation about why Edward couldn't read Bella's thoughts (POINT: I think that it would follow that Jasper's abilities wouldn't work either, because I would interpret them as mental abilities).
3) I felt closure. (Maybe that's because it was so bad that I don't ever want to read another Twilight book again :).
Things I didn't like:
1) Pretty much the whole PLOT! I'm sorry, but the over-romanticized nature of teen pregnancy is disturbing, not to mention completely awkward and out of place for the series. As soon as I saw where the book was going, I thought: "The producers for the Twilight movies have got to hate this," because I just don't think it will resonate with the average Twilight fan, and it's just WEIRD! And I think that all the weirdness just brought up more unexplained questions. (POINT: I don't think it makes sense biologically that a vampire could procreate.)
To add on some weirdness, I just couldn't get behind the whole Jacob imprinting on a newborn. It makes me squeamish.
2) All the FORESHADOWING. This is a problem in other Twilight books as well (esp. the 2nd, with Jacob being a werewolf). Immortal children were mentioned in the book numerous times before Bella actually realized she was pregnant. It became painfully obvious what was going to happen. It's annoying to have the plot spoiled for you by the author.
This problem is compounded with the lack of action in the book. Just waiting and waiting and then what you expected is what happens.
3) All the SEX. The sex scenes, allusions, and innuendoes weren't necessarily over the top with graphic detail or description, it's that they were just so plentiful, which made them boring/annoying. I was so much happier with the romantic tension in the first 3 books. Also, this being a young adult book (we're talking pre-teens), I think that the all the sex is really unnecessary, and inappropriate. It just drags the story line anyway.
Read it if you've read the other 3, just for the sake of completing the series. Otherwise, avoid it.
