** ARC was provided by author in exchange for an honest review **
This book has sat on my kindle for quite a while. It was possibly one of the first books I received once I began to sign up to promotion sites.
Nothing made me not want to read it, it was just that more and more ARC's were added to the pile and it got pushed to the back. It was one of the main reasons I ended up creating a spreadsheet, so I had something to work on.
The story intrigued me from the Synopsis.
It did take a while for me to get into it, and that is not mainly down to the book, but life in general but over the last few days I have been unable to put it down.
The story follows Jasmine, a Demi-Dorgai who hunt out evil Suecai who feed of human's chi and kill them. Only, the Gunshi has a plan to kidnap Jazz and unite both her powerful family and his. After a failed attempt, the Gunshi fails and it's not until the next does he get what he wants and that is to turn Jazz into a full Dorgai.
Through the story we follow Jazz and her erratic behavior-due to wanting revenge- and watch her deal with not only her upcoming change and mission to reverse it, but also her feelings for Khan, her childhood friend and love.
Some of the scenes, mainly the battle one's confused me but it was certainly a good read.
Sticking with it paid off and I'm glad I didn't give up.
