I wasn't going to read this because I thought it was going to be kind of a silly, humourous book, which I'm not a fan of. There is some humour, but it's not silly, but more relatable and rather dark.
The vampire is of course, not a good thing, but the true horror element for me in this book stems more from the dismal and misogynistic treatment the husbands accord to their wives.
Overall an engaging read that does a good job of capturing the essence of the mid-nineties middle class and the relentless struggle to satiate the ever-present hunger for more.
