Read 4 times. Last read July 5, 2023 to July 7, 2023.
This review is on the 2023 edition with "bonus material". I listened to the audiobook.
This book is a five star to me and that didn't change. Even with the little things that could be corrected here or there, I really resonate with the story and it comforts me to read. Notwithstanding that, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS VERSION!
It felt like a cash grab. They changed the cover and added a few tiny nothing epilogues to the end, and gave it duet narration. Yes, it's kinda nice to get both a male and female voice, but these two are not very inspired. Like I appreciate their voices in general, but they didn't have much range. Callie Dalton, the first narrator for this book, will always be Vanessa to me and I felt more in the story with her than with these two perfectly fine narrators.
But, in general, it's the same book. I WANTED AIDEN'S POV!!!!! I really wanted an epilogue or bonus content with some of this story from Aiden. And I didn't get it. And what I did get was garbage. Like seriously, I would rather NOT have listened to the bonus material because it makes me feel grumpy leaving this book in a way I've never felt before.

Re-read 5/6/7? I adore this book so much. It’s a perfect re-read and I listened to it as I fell asleep. It was great cause I would just relisten to the parts I missed and didn’t mind hearing some of the parts I didn’t.
Vanessa needs therapy. She takes way too much responsibility for everyone around her. Thankfully, even tho she thinks her bad relationship with her mom (for one example) is her own fault for not forgiving, she still chooses healthy actions to not engage.
I love her so much.
And Aidan is an idiot but also learns. You bet I’ll be reading the updated version when it’s released!!

Really enjoyed the slow burn romance. Felt like real time of two people getting to know each other and appreciating each other. Also, I’m a sucker for the “marry now and fall in love later stories.
I’ve re-read this so many times now. It’s just so good. Vanessa is a lot like me personality-wise and I relate to her trust issues. I love that Aidan learns and does what’s needed to make her feel safe in life and in their relationship. It’s such a good and satisfying story.

"Got this email from MZ:
“The new audiobook will be a duet narrated by Emma Wilder and Stephen Dexter.
Does that mean we get Aidens POV!? What does this mean!? Or are we getting the male voices in a male voice!?"

"I still love Callie Dalton's Vanessa. She will always be Vanessa to me. I wish she was the female narrator for this book.
Emma Wilder narrates so many other books that I don't immediately relate her voice to Vanessa. But I'll deal. Loving having the male narrator (Stephen Dexter) as Aiden/male voices."

"Book thoughts: "Mariana Zapata doesn't know how to name football teams."
Then immediately...
Sportsball teams have weird names and "300s" and "White Oaks" is just as bad (or good?) as "Oilers" or "Jets" or "Dolphins"."

"Awwwww. Aiden finally uses his words. Tho he could also use some help using more words and being brave himself. Instead, he waits until she tells him she loves him before he's brave enough. And even then, it takes Vanessa asking him point blank "Do you love me?" for him to answer. And even then, he makes her work for it.
