One of the reasons that I was attracted to this book was that I fell in love with its cover.
I couldn’t wait to put my hands on it.
Then I read the synopsis and I was intrigued, but I had no expectations.
Once I started reading I was completely hooked.
I thought that the writing was very engaging and the storyline very atmospheric with an excellent flow.
I liked the concept and I thought that development of the story was clever, but not flawless.
This book is well structured, with 3 POV and two timelines (1791 and present time).
I enjoyed meeting Nella and Eliza and I wanted to learn more about them, but the book is too short and lacked some depth. Their immediate affinity for each other was beautiful and somewhat touching.
I did not care that much for Caroline, until nearly to the end, and I think that the book would be more interesting and a lot better without her POV.
There are some very implausible or unrealistic events that may be a turn off, like how fast and easy Caroline was able to obtain answers at her fingertips, but because I was so drawn into the characters and the storyline, I really did not care (or decided to ignore - well, this is a work of fiction, after all).
Overall, because I was transported to that era, I was pleased with my reading experience and I thought that this book was very entertaining and very easy to read.

"A good start.
So far I’m enjoying the writing and the alternating time between chapters.
I’m drawn to Nella and Eliza (1791 London) more than Caroline (modern day England), but it’s too early to have a definite opinion.
It’s a small book and I hope not to be disappointed.
I had a long day at work..."

"A small dent. Blame it on work.
But I’m very anxious to finish this book because I can hardly wait to start my next book, “Dark Horses, by Susan Mihalic, which just arrived from the library (as if I did not have enough piling up)."

Are you having problems with getting updates from friends? Some notifications are arriving one hour after and some 24 hours later. For days I couldn’t access my friends information using the app, unless I go through the web site, which I rarely do.
