I’m in shock. Here’s a few quotes to explain my distress:
”Omegas should be claimed, must be claimed—it is the law. An unmated Omega is a temptation and a nuisance the Imperium could do without.�
“She isn’t merely slight, she’s nothing but skin and bones. I want to welt her ass for taking such poor care of herself, as irrational as that is. We’ll feed her and care for her now, as is our duty. In return, she will give us her body, and, gods be willing, children.�
“Eat the food or you will be getting your first taste of the strap. Nate’s mash is grim fare, but you will enjoy it a lot more than discipline.�
“Dax, despite his gruff outer shell, has no more heart for disciplining this sweet little Omega than I do. Still, we must all toe the line where her safety and welfare is concerned.�
“I do not want to be the one to discipline her. I suspect Silas knows as much, and that is why he’s forcing this. She’s petite, helpless, and her safety depends upon her obedience. Further, it will aid bonding her to us.�
“She needs to understand that she is ours now, and the discipline is part of that.�
“You can’t! I didn’t do anything!� Tears are pooling in her eyes. “You thought about it,� I say coldly.

You must be reminded of your place.� She struggles, but I’m stronger and it does her no good. “An Omega obeys her Alphas. Your father is gone, and we are your Alphas now.�
15% in aaaaaannnndddd I’m out. This patriarchy bullshit is not for me.
Men treating women like little kids who need “discipline� for their own good (even punishing their mere thoughts!), who are hoping to trigger her heat to force her into sex with them (it’s called rape, in case someone is wondering). None of this is sexy or hot. It’s sickening and an example of the disease that sexism inflicts upon our society.
A woman wrote this, and many other women enjoyed it. The Patriarchy won with this one.

and that's why I don't read omegaverse :) I could probably stomach gay omegaverse, because it would not seem so sexistly

@Maria there’s a sub-sub-genre known as sweet omegaverse and it is NOTHING like this. I highly recommend you check it out if you haven’t yet. Let me recommend my favorites:Baby and the late night howlers, Lola and the Millioners and Bad Alpha by Kathryn Moon.
Pack Darling by Lola Rocks.
Good Girl and Bad Girl by Sam Hall.
Vera and the Vegas V by Sarah Blue and Ashley Bennett.
Manix and Frenzy my Grace McGinty.
Lilacs and Leather by Thora Woods.
And even in the main sub-genre of omegaverse, there are books that aren’t as bad as this one. I feel like this one won some sort of prize or something� 😅

I am at the 15% mark and I THREW my kindle. I threw it! The language so far is atrocious! I know to leave my feminist at home when I read books like this but boy is this one bad!
@Bettylicious first off, hope you’re not torturing yourself any further and DNFd this 😣 and yeah, I’ve left my feminist at home to enjoy plenty of books but this one was impossible to enjoy. The way these men talked about women was so degrading and gross, I couldn’t find anything sexy in any of it�

This is so wrong. Being a female you are encouraging men to treat us like a helpless creature? I've not read this book and maybe wont ever do. Thanks for sharing all this we should encourage equality rather than rapists.

They had as much charisma and chemistry like an old flip flop left in the sun.
The author tried for edgy and ended up in "I write problematic character"-Land.

Pretty much the exact point I DNF as well. I’ve since read other omegaverse books (even some dark ones) and this is still the only one that reads as abuse. I haven’t tried anything else by this author.
