Ugly Love

Colleen Hoover's books were introduced to me by a friend. So far, a few of Hoover's books have been cheesy, over-the-top romancing in the most unlikely circumstances. Maybe the ending didn't work, or the character flaws were unbearable.
Yet, Ugly Love was an intriguing page-turner worth savoring until its finality. A definite slow-burn love story that reeled me in. I must say though, that I never fall in love with her writing, but I am drawn by the 'edge of your seat drama.
Miles, the ever brooding and recluse pilot meets his best friend's sister Tate. She's mesmerizing at first sight, yet for the past six years, Miles is committed to swearing off relationships. after the pain of his one true love, Rachel.
The chemistry between Miles and Tate is infectious, but if anything can happen between them, there has to rules—he’s afraid of letting his past dictate and hurt him in the present.
Is Tate willing to just be in a physical relationship without exploring any emotions? Can she separate love from lust?
Miles has to do everything he can to protect his heart from experiencing the pain of the past. How long can emotions be ignored before true feelings get in the way? Many found Miles to be an awful character. Yet, there is a sordid story to his behavior that is worth understanding.
This is a book about finding your truth, accepting the inevitable, and forgiving your past. I loved it and would recommend it.

Thanks Yun! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I think the chemistry just worked for me!

Thanks, Lisa! It’s worth the read!

Thanks, Melissa! Hope you are well!

Thanks, Jenny! This one has gotten a lot of mixed reviews. I was able to understand the deeper psychological variances in the characters while reading. It helped to give each character space in their past pain.

Fariha, thanks! I think It Ends with Us is a definite must read. Don't go into it for amazing writing, go in for a plot worth remembering!

Thanks, Nilguen! Everyone needs a CoHo break!
