I JUST FINISHED THIS BOOK AND I'm kind of confused about the ending. Did Ty leave Gemma?

Right?! This book needed to be the middle one of a trilogy because I have so so many questions!!
@Trash I'm sitting here feelign a bit dead inside, as I was left with the impression she killed him and let him sink into that water. I gather then, you think he's still alive?
