This! This is exactly the vibe this book gave off. I mean it did it successfully, cause it did blow up on TikTok but this was in no way a book worthy of so many 4/5 star reviews and praise.

@Giorgia the scenes were so ‘outta-nowhere� 🥴 there were so many scenes where i’m like ‘oof booktokers gonna feed om this content� but yet it’s the author who proved my point lol
I agree!! Felt like it was just pandering to this audience. The fact that he read her books was especially pandering to BookTok for me. It had no consequence to anything other than the spice factor and so lacked follow-through for me. Many of the plot points were just left in the air. Ending was soo rushed! It felt careless really.
I feel this. I can sniff out pandering immediately. It’s annoying.
BookTok has a lot to answer for. I am instantly turned off by books that get hype on there, have been burned so many times lately.
BookTok is messing with our reading experience, lol! I was actually looking forward to giving this one a try! Sorry it was such a mess! xx
