it was ok

All of the people rating this book five stars are lying. This book was terrible and gruesome. I strongly disliked every minute that I had to suffer through. It was repetitive and genuinely unlikeable. The only interesting chapters were the ones that included backstories.

Tom You had to suffer through it? Who forced you to keep reading?

Alyssa Bishop It was for a school assignment, Tom. Students have complained about this book being in the curriculum for years, and luckily for the future students, it has finally been removed.

Rosemary I believe the school wanted to make students aware that when young people join the military, they need to be prepared for the chance they may have to sacrifice their lives, or perhaps lose some limbs for life. People may learn wonderful trades in the military, but if there is a War, there will always be some horribleness. It's a reality of evil in the world that exists alongside the good. Without these young heroes, none of us would be free. China experienced being occupied and most Chinese in those areas were totally annihilated. Germans practically starved the citizens in countries they occupied, that is the ones they didn't kill. I looked on the book as a lesson in history as a respectful memorialization of those dear young men who gave all.
