It takes a bit to get going, but each book is better -- like spending time with good friends.

Nice review Tina, I found this book rather comical because I think that’s the Author’s intention. He’s basically taken tips for some of the great Crime writers (one friend Mark Billingham especially) and structured it in a way to make it a typical “Who done it�� but will lovely spin of British Humour with a completely unbelievable plot but with delightful characters that grow on you as you go through the book series. If you are looking for a more serious crime/thriller that’s possibly believable these books are not for you. You probably also need to understand British humour to make sure you don’t miss the many “one liners�� that are in abundance. 📚💕

I get my books from Sainsbury’s because they do a Best of range. 😂😂😂

"Different strokes for different folks" - I haven't read this series, but I know how you feel. I couldn't understand the hype of Crawdads nor Louise Penny nor Donna Leon.

Thanks Graham! I did enjoy the British humour but perhaps this would have been best if I'd read it rather than listened to it. It was all the side plots and characters that were confusing for me. It did make me chuckle quite a few times though. Thanks for the info...I'm Canadian so I may have missed a few jokes indeed.

Awwn too bad it was a bit of a disappointment Tina. Its okay to be an outlier, it be so boring if everyone liked the same books. I dont like when books are hard to follow because there is too much going on, it always leave me confused.
