This is a classic I've just never been able to pick up - I'm not sure why, though.

Hi Mai! Glad you liked this one. I too find it difficult sometimes handle American fiction but ultimately, I always land up loving them even more! 'The Great Gatsby' is one of my favorites. Have a wonderful working week ahead! Cheers! (The Great Gatsby way) :)
@Fiza - American fiction is tough!
I liked the book because the time setting is interesting to me but I struggled with the story at times. You might try "The Chosen and the Beauitiful by Nghi Vo who looks at the Gatsby story through the eyes of Jordan Brewster (Daisy's friend).
@Charles I actually did not like The Chosen and the Beautiful at all, or any of Nghi's books. They don't tend to work for me. I love the original so much the retellings tend to bother me, e.g. Pride and Prejudice.
