The Guest List is a “whodunnit� mystery set on an Irish island where guests have gathered for a wedding. There is an ominous vibe in this remote setting and it is clear from the beginning something bad has happened, but to who and by whom?
The story’s large cast of characters includes: Jules, the bride, Will, the groom, Hannah, the plus one of Charlie, a longtime friend of the bride, Aoife, the wedding planner, Johnno, the best man, Olivia, the bridesmaid and half-sister of Jules, as well as other groomsmen and family members.
I didn’t find any of the characters likable based on their personalities or the secrets they were hiding, however, this didn’t stop me from quickly becoming engrossed in the story, which moves back and forth between the wedding night and earlier in the weekend, prior to the big event.
This was my second book by Lucy Foley. While there were similarities in style between this book and The Hunting Party I enjoyed The Guest List more.

I read this quite a long time ago, and when I attempted to remove the duplicate book listing from my GR account, my review for this one also disappeared. My favorite of Foley’s last 3 books is The Paris Apartment though it is a slow burn!
