𓆩✦�� are these books repetitive or am i just kinda bored? both?

and now�� The Rant

i wanted to have my mind blown by the tandem read, but now i just want to take a nap.

someone needs to teach aelin that secrets secrets are no fun. secrets secrets hurt someone.

…b�𳦲��ܲ��� nothing can stop our girl from withholding only ✨THE most important information�� from her loved ones. she’s just going to keep information to herself and hurt everyone in the process because she needs to save the world and her ego doesn’t let her ask for help. she’s intentionally leaving people out of her schemes even though it destroys relationships. no biggie. 🤭💖💅

(aelin’s therapist would have an aneurysm.)

overall, aelin has become predictably unpredictable. if you’ve seen my other reviews for the rest of the series, i don’t dislike these books AT ALL.
but�� how many times can aelin keep secrets, self-sabotage, then play it off like it was the only option?

i feel like the cycle of secret-keeping is overused by the author.

i’m tired.

for my girlies debating the tandem read:

i did enjoy how the timelines matched up. i would highly recommend assessing yourself as a reader to determine whether you want to do the tandem read.

do you hate chaol? does reading a book where the timeline already happened bother you?

truthfully, these books put me in a slump (mostly EOS). i’m genuinely not sure whether i’m happy i did the tandem or not.

** 3 stars is never a bad rating but it certainly wasn’t higher, much to my disappointment
