This book is so Addicting!! I just could not put it down. It was amazing. I am so happy it is the first book in the series. That's why I love reading series, because it takes awhile for it to end. I don't know why it took me so long to actually open up this book. I now am going to the library and I am going to get the second and third book, and I already have the fourth book. This book was so suspenseful, I love a good thriller and its a good mystery also. I really want more of Will Trent,
Nobody would of cared about the death of Aleesha Monroe, the prostitute slain in the Atlanta Housing Project if the killer had not of bitten off her tongue. Since Aleesha is the fourth such victim in recent months, Detective Michael Ormewood is under intense pressure from his lieutenant to close the case. The pressure is only intensified when Will Trent, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Special Criminal Apprehenshion Team is assigned to the case. and when Will Trent asks his childhood friend Vice Cop Angie Polaski for help. Across town John Shelley just released from prison after serving 20 years for rape and murder, has problems of his own, a dead end job, and that everyone knows that he served time for killing a 15 year old girl.
Though there are mysteries along the way, how did John manage to compile a great credit rating and whats the connection between the violence past and present?
The heroes and villains, who act both surprisingly and logically are a welcome sign that Slaughter's great work only hints at her talent of her gifts.
This book is definitely not for the faint at heart. Its a dark mystery and thriller.

I'll be interested in what you think. I've been hearing about Slaughter's books and just never picked any up.

I haven't either, but everyone seems to be reading her, so I decided to find out what all the hype was about!

Pamela I always get Barnes and Noble gift cards for Christmas. I've been going to library sales though and have bought two books by her. She is so good.

I love that you are trying to get your husband to read. I think that Patient Zero is a smart, turn the pages dood book. I'm not a zombie reader, but I thought about it when I was not reading it. Picture a virus that crazy-smart people keep upgrading to achieve an intelligent ravenous meat eater. Totally a dood book.
Patient Zero was my first choice for him. It is too long though and would like a short book. This way he would be able to finish it. I want to make it easy. He picked the author that he wants to read and picked Stephen King. Janie picked out The Mist. I think its a good choice since its only 230 pages if I remember right. I am definitely going to be reading Patient Zero next month. I usually don't like anything zombie but hear that its really good and I'm giving it a try.

Yes I am. So many people have told me that it is a quick read, so quick that they finished it in a day. That is the only reason why I'm reading it. Janie says its a good story so I am giving it a try. I usually don't like romance but I was so surprised how much I liked the Outlander series.
Romance? Oh noooo., about 3.5 seconds, maybe. Sex... 5.6..depends on how fast you read. Lol. People read it in a day, that's why I think your guy may like it. Have you read anything he might like besides business books? Or does he? Just guessing.
He usually reads boring stuff, he likes reading about politics and the United Nations, he even belongs to a United Nations website and talks on there about his views on things to make the United States a better country. I would be happy if I could get him to just read one fiction book. I told him just to read one and that's it and I would never bother him again. I'm afraid it will backfire and he will ask me to read about politics lol!Hehehe love your comments about 50 shades of Gray. Janie says its a good story and not strictly romance, so we will see? I'll be skimming through the sex parts lol! Already know how and don't need to read about it. No Bob wont read romance that's for sure. He would never read a book again.

Susan are you going to read Fifty Shades of Gray? Janie doesn't like romance either and she said that it was a good story behind it. I'm going to at least try it and see.
