It’s not the bad memories that tear a person apart. It’s the good ones.

⋆⁺₊⋆ quick summary ⋆₊⁺⋆
This book takes off after the events of The Naturals, and we’re thrown into another mystery right off the bat. After everything that went down the team is tasked with solving cold cases from a distance, but when a copycat killer makes its first victim the naturals are forced to intervene.
⋆⁺₊⋆ my thoughts ⋆₊⁺⋆
I really liked this one more than the last, but there’s still something missing for me. Still I really enjoyed it! The mystery was more prominent in this one, it started right away and only grew from there. There was more suspense and because it directly affects one of the characters everything felt denser and the stakes were higher. Though I must say, I predicted a lot of the plot as the story went along, it was still intriguing and does manage to throw you for a loop.
Also, the characters! We get some character development and backstory on them, and see their relationships grow which I loved.
The writing is also very good. Albeit simple it keeps you hooked and guessing. The chapters are short and end on little cliffhangers that only propel you to keep reading making it such an easy and compelling read.
⋆⁺₊⋆ characters ⋆₊⁺⋆
.*profiler #1 ~ Cassie
╰┈➤Even though she’s not my favorite fmc and I find her a little annoying and self-centered at times, I do love being in her profiling mind and seeing how she puzzles everything together.
.*profiler #2 ~ Dean
╰┈ We learn so much about his past and what he went through, and sometimes I just wanted to hug him. You can really see how it all shaped him. Sometimes I expected him to “explode given the circumstances and he always remained eerily calm so that others wouldn’t perceive him as his dad.
.*emotions reader ~ Michael
╰┈ I know a lot of you are team Michael, but I’m team Dean because I just want Michael for myself!yes, I’m selfish like that The whole bad boy vibe, his sarcasm and mysteriousness, his cocky attitude and sexiness, HUGH just marry me already.
.*lie detector ~ Lia
Someday, I was fairly certain that Lia would write a book entitled Making an Awkward Situation Worse.
╰┈ This quote right here depicts Lia in her entirety and is the reason why I think I’m falling for her. She’s so headstrong, sassy, blunt and not afraid to say what she thinks, but you can also see that it’s an armor she’s built.
.*statistics and probabilities expert ~ Sloane
╰┈ We didn’t get much from her in book one, and even though we got more in this one, I still feel like it wasn’t enough. We do get the sweetest scene with her and I just gotta say this girl must be protected at all costs.
In conclusion, this was a great sequel with an entertaining and mysterious plot and character dynamics that will have you turning the page.
I cannot wait to find out where the third installment leads us after that ending and the discoveries we made so far. Onto the third we go

This one was much better than the first, there was more mystery to it which I liked.
Still, I think I missed a career as a detective because I keep figuring it out in the end.
