3 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Caitlin Weaver is an auto request author for me on NetGalley, so I was really looking forward to reading this one. Surprisingly, this was my least favorite by her so far.
There are a few things that I liked about this story. It definitely has all the things you want in a domestic drama - betrayal, lies, deceit, adultery and messy relationships - romantic and non-romantic. I liked the character development as well. I enjoyed the book overall, but I had higher hopes.
This one didn’t immediately hook me in like her previous books. I feel like it was drawn out a lot of the time with nothing really happening. None of the characters are likable, especially the main character. Poor decision-making is abundant in this book! The single POV was a big miss for me also. I think I would’ve enjoyed reading about some of the other characters POV’s as it would’ve made the story a bit more interesting. The pacing was good, not great, and the ending was meh. Too tidy and unrealistic.
Despite my average review, I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next!
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my advanced copy to read and review.
