Okay in a nutshell this book was about absolutely nothing. I honestly have no idea what the plot is supposed to be and that really irritates me. I feel that if I invest my time reading a 450 page book I should at least know what the author is building, but I am lost. The only thing I know is that Daniel and Luce are connected and in love. Now where this love starts and why they have to be together is a complete mystery. Daniel is also an angel, but again I don't know why he is a fallen angel. Actually the only thing I know about him is that he is good looking, runs hot and cold with Luce, and has violet wings. The fate of mankind rests on Daniel and Luce's love which seems a bit hokey to me. Especially since you don't get any explanation as to why they are so important. Kate just states that the truth will kill Luce. Um hello what?? Why would knowing her past and her connections with this new world physically kill her?? Again I just don't get it. Also Cam, where does he fit in her past. If she loves Daniel so much why is Cam a weakness for her and what is their history? Kate could have thrown in so much more detail and she should have so that we as the reader could understand her world. I have so many questions and I would like them answered but I have a strong feeling Kate is going to drag this out so I am not prepared to read anymore. Uh I am so disappointed, it has a beautiful cover though..

Oh yes! I still have no idea what the book was about. Even the characters are left with nothing but the obivious explained.
I honestly don't think so. This might be the first series that I pass on. Well this and BDB =) I will probably just read the spoilers for it though because I am curious how this will end.
With these crap books you will learn to abandon series very quickly I think:)
I am beginning to see it that way. It is hard to not finish one but I have wasted so much time on past series that I just can't do it anymore.
I used to be compelled to finish them too, but now when everybody just butchers their own characters by necessarily extending the series for money, I am only staying as long as I am interested in the story, otherwise - S'laters, I don't feel like being taken advantage of.

Great review Crystal, I too was drawn to that gorgey cover, but I have long since decided not to read it. The ratings were terrible. Sorry it didn't work for you though, that sucks.

I would have loved reading your review, but I think you are better off skipping this one.
Looks like you and I feel the same way about this book. Cover = good, Content = not so good. I won't be reading the sequel(s) either. Great review!

Good comparison. hahaha Towards the end of the book they became something like 'announcers', right? Something like they sensed when something bad would happen, but I still don't know what their purpose was. Did they protect or harm Luce? It was so strange.
Yep, I agree. This book was totally and utterly crap with a misleading yet very gorgeous cover.

I couldn't figure it out either because at one point they couldn't touch her but by the end they were creeping into her pocket.. I just don't get it.

I also fell in love with the cover. Which, btw, I don't see how the cover has anything to do with this book. Like, doesn't Luce have a dikey haircut at the beginning of this book? Who's the girl? Me. The girl is me. Crying because I wasted money on this book.
LMAO! I think the cover artist knew we would all feel that way! I didn't get the cover either. Have you seen the cover for the next book? It too is gorgeous, but I will not make the same mistake twice.

Thanks Zoe! Yeah this was not a hit with me and I think this was the first series I decided not to finish.
