What a fantastic introduction into Ali Hazelwood's writing! Definitely won't be my last read of hers 🙌 4,5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌙

IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't expect this to be BDSM or pure erotica heavy. Despite the blurb, their sexual preferences are used only as a plot device to get them together and ARE NOT THE MAIN POINT OF THE STORY👉👈

MY GENERAL THOUGHTS: You know that feeling when you read a book and it makes you feel giddy with excitement and you just can't put it down? Yes, this is precisely what this book made me feel the entire time I read it 😍🔥 Every component of the story worked for me: the college setting, their respective sports representation, the hero being Swedish, only having a single female POV, the main characters and the depths of their feelings towards each other etc.💕

MY SPOILERY THOUGHTS: there are a couple of things that irk me and I want to leave them here, so hopefully someone wants to discuss it with me/ 🆘🙏🏼

1. the character that is PEN👀🙃 Is she really good? What was that whole part with Clarissa? Because to me Pen came off as highly manipulative. Her apology was nice-ish, but her outburst at the end wasn't the only instance when she was sus. Throughout the story, she was pulling the "oh, I know him so much better than you" card every time Scarlett and Lukas showed signs of getting closer. Belittling passive-aggressively Scarlett for her kinks, mentioning to her that she and Lukas will defo get back together in the future, throwing a welcome back party for Lucas WITHOUT INVITING SCARLETT 🚩, always "needing her best friend Lukas" right when he and Scarlett would have a moment, refusing to announce the news about her breakup with Lukas MONTHS AFTER THE FACT. I think she broke up with Lukas to play the field and fuck around, but was scared he'd find a new girlfriend, so she got them two together into a sex arrangement, suspecting/hoping/knowing that Scarlett won't go for a relationship with Lukas because of Pen. And knowing that Lukas won't look elsewhere, because he'd be content with Scarlett. If I were Scarlett, I'd be wary of being friends with Pen after that whole manipulation But I guess the girlies made up and are now closer than ever? 🤷🏼‍♀��

2. If Lukas was so into Scarlett right from the start, why did he agree to play along with Pen's demands NOT to ANNOUNCE their break up? Like, I get at first, but the WHOLE BOOK! It honestly made Scarlett so insecure about where she stood, what she could and wasn't allowed to do in regards to Lukas that it pissed me off🤬For someone who claimed to be able to read Scarlett, his actions or rather inaction led to so much more angst than necessary. 👉👈

Regardless, the book is highly entertaining, addictive and memorable!🙌👌
