“Wild Dark Shore, by Charlotte McConaghy
4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one is hard to review.
I do have mixed feelings.
There are goods moments as well as boring ones.
The concept is terrific and the writing is excellent, but this is a slow burn.
Sometimes I felt like quitting because the pace was not very consistent.
Some pages were filled with love as well as with great grief.
The setting was very atmospheric and some descriptions were very beautiful and touching.
But the storytelling wasn’t gripping or flawless.
Some short chapters felt incomplete, as if in a draft mode.
The characters were very vivid, believable and likeable, and the development of the story is told through multiple perspectives.
But when I reached the conclusion I was left unsatisfied.
My praise is absolutely for the concept and for the writing.
I really wished to have listened to the audiobook while reading the ebook.

"Slow but interesting.
I’m still trying to understand why alternating between 1st and third person narratives.
I would prefer just one."

"I will finish this book by tomorrow night.
I confess that I had huge expectations, after reading so many wonderful reviews, and I can say it will not enter my list of favourites reads. There are good moments, but the storytelling is not that engaging."
