I thought so!! Plus for $20 I can take anything I don't want to read to the used book store and trade them...

message 252: by [deleted user] (new)

:D Moving on up.

message 253: by Emilia (new)

Emilia All of them were really good! I don't know what it is, but her writing style is just really great, that it really pulls the reader in! If the books weren't this good, I probably wouldn't have joined the site just to talk about something I really didn't like..

message 254: by [deleted user] (new)

*Nods* yeah. Some people join this site to let out some resentment towards books, as well as discussing books they do love. It's good for everyone. :D

message 255: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments Totally! Although it's not possible for me to resent a book, unless it's school-related...
And u were right, Melzz. Moon Called was a cool read, although it wasn't really on vampires :) .And i guess u liked Mac? I'm halfway through Blood Bound now. It's goin good so i guess i'll read the rest of Mercy books now just because.D'you plan to read the rest ?

message 256: by [deleted user] (new)

Definitely, Sharda. Yeah, Mac was cool. We were also both from the same little town, Naperville. I think I would have liked him more if he had just stuck around. :(

message 257: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments lol...But now i'm on the 4th book.U know it's like her troubles r never over.Too bad the 5th book hasn't come out yet.

message 258: by [deleted user] (new)

Omigawd Sharda, are you a super fast reader, or do you just spend a lot of your time on books? Yesterday afternoon you said you were on book two, last night it said you were on book three, now your on book four (probably finished by the time you read this)? I can't even get my hands on the other books. Share with me your power O'wise one.

message 259: by Emilia (new)

Emilia Melzz-
have you read the midnight sun manuscript??

message 260: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, and I loved it.

message 261: by Emilia (new)

Emilia same here!
a little weird that alice saw bella and her best friends and immortal!

message 262: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, I never understood why Edward had such a chip on his shoulder until then.

message 263: by Emilia (new)

Emilia it cleared up so much,
which reminded me that in the movie,
when bella meets the family,
alice hops down from the tree with jasper,
and she hugs her and says
you do smell good
and then she says
bella and i r going 2 b great friends.
so, that was probably from midnight sun, as they wouldn't have know about it from anything else,
bella wasnt very close with alice like edward is
so they didn't really hang out in the book together,
more in the last books...

message 264: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah. Did you know that Rob was one of the people Stephenie gave the Midnight Sun draft to? He used it while playing Edward.

message 265: by Emilia (new)

Emilia Cool!!
Where did you find that out???

message 266: by Rebecca Bea (last edited Jul 31, 2009 03:08PM) (new)

Rebecca ❤ Bea ❤ | 50 comments DId u hear that he went all psycho when he got the part and isolated himself to get into the role?

message 267: by Emilia (new)

Emilia wowza!!!!
well,
somebody's gotta go crazy,
guess it was just him!!!

Rebecca ❤ Bea ❤ | 50 comments yeah apparently when they started filming his co-stars were worried about his mental health.
Stanislavski would be proud

message 269: by Emilia (new)

Emilia haaha!!!!

Rebecca ❤ Bea ❤ | 50 comments have you seen the Haunted Airman?
I wonder what he did to get into that role

message 271: by [deleted user] (new)

Emilia wrote: "Where did you find that out?"

I found it out when I read Twilight The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion. Also, Rob talked about the draft during their .

Rebecca wrote: "DId u hear that he went all psycho when he got the part and isolated himself to get into the role?"

He didn't go "psycho", Catherine Hardwicke hired him, and told him how to prepare for the role. He was required to learn how to "live and think like Edward Cullen", so she had him spend most of his time isolated physically to know how Edward must have felt mentally. She also had him write "Letters to Carlisle", in the voice of Edward, asking him "why he was changed", so he could feel that depression.

message 272: by ˥JԲԲ (new)

˥JԲԲ˥ o, well that a good acting mechanism (if that makes any sense)

Rebecca ❤ Bea ❤ | 50 comments Its still kinda psycho, I read about it in his biography and it made it sound like he decided to do it himself.

message 274: by Joy (new)

Joy (thedragonlily) | 39 comments Currently reading RED PROPHET, Orson Scott Card, sequel to the delightful fantasy SEVENTH SON.

message 275: by Katie (new)

Katie I just started Bluestar's Prophecy by Erin Hunter.

message 276: by [deleted user] (new)

Rebecca wrote: "Its still kinda psycho"

In your opinion, many people have done crazier things for roles.

Rebecca ❤ Bea ❤ | 50 comments I guess and i am a fan of Stanislvski

message 278: by [deleted user] (new)

I think his method may have been the one Rob was using, but he must have done it too much, because Rob came out as too eccentric in the film.

message 279: by Caro (new)

Caro (jesuiscoralyne) I'm on this Neil Gaiman trip so I've been reading all his books. I am now reading "American Gods"

message 280: by Caro (new)

Caro (jesuiscoralyne) Has anyone heard about the second part to the hunger games trilogy?

message 281: by Emily (new)

Emily (enhawk) | 48 comments Im reading The Lovely Bones it is pretty good so far kind of creepy

message 282: by Joy (new)

Joy (thedragonlily) | 39 comments I like books about people learning in the afterlife. THE MERCY OF THIN AIR by Ronlyn Domingue has an older average reader range than THE LOVELY BONES, and to me it was even better.

lol!!!! Yah. i finshed bk 4 soon after. i'm a really really fast reader and i can analyse the book even though i read it so fast.i guess it's a result of studying in school.it isn't called the best school for nothing.they slaughter us there.Right now i'm on lord of the rings 1, but it's moving so slow! i think im gonna quit reading it and admit the movie was better. And i also think im gonna start reading the nightworld series as soon as i can get my hands on it...

message 284: by Emilia (new)

Emilia haha!
WOW!!
How'd you like the Twilight series??

message 285: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll join the 'shudder party'. But i hav it worse here.my longest vacation is usually less than 2 months! And to make this summer worse, i hav to go to school this month for some external exam results.Bleh.

Sharda | 558 comments Emilia wrote: "Sharda,

Of course i'll recommend it! Do u really hav to ask? im obsessed, for crying out loud. And i cant go into the million reasons why i liked it either. But for a few...i was forever obsessed with vampires(ask Melzz, she's my book witness) so naturally i read it as soon as i found out.Edward i love cuz he's like an amazing person in so many ways and i'm a sucker for romance too.the plot was, like, totally captivating cuz u wanna know wat happens next so bad that ur forced to walk around with the book in one hand and try to do chores with the other(not an easy task but it's worth it to me).And about a million other reasons......
-grins- :D

Giselle wrote:"after I read Twilight I just started reading."

Same here, Giselle. Twilight got me hooked on reading, it's the reason I joined this site, and of course this group. ;)
