Ashley Marie I finished Tithe in two days -- it's got its problems, but really seems to have held up fairly well in the ten years since I last read it. I just continue to bemoan the lack of creative faerie stories, because they all seem to revolve around the MC-becomes-a-fae plot.

Donna (BookDragonGirl) (bookdragongirl) I loved Tithe, Ashley, and I plan on continuing the series! I thank you for introducing it to us!! :)

Yes! My feelings exactly, Elora. I read Unwind when it first came out and it blew me away, so I was kind of nervous when Neal announced he was writing sequels to it ... the second book came out like five years after the first one! But I really loved how he used the sequels to expand on the world he had created, and to explore all the moral ambiguities of unwinding. I'm glad you enjoyed the whole series! :)

I also finished it in two days! It was pretty fast reading, haha. :) I had also read it like ten years ago and was curious to see how I would feel about it––unfortunately for me, though, both times I didn't like it much. Ah well.

I agree, I'd like to see more creative faerie stories, since there's so much fascinating mythology! I'm actually working on my own book that involves faeries; it's sort of a historical fantasy involving the potato famine but also Irish mythology. And my main character doesn't turn into a faerie. :D

Hi, everyone! *waves*

I haven't read hardly at all the last week, its been super busy with graduation!

Right now, still listening to Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke and its getting good!

Almost done with Rebellion (Ixeos Trilogy, #2) by Jennings Wright and to be honest, I'm a bit bored with it. The first one was a lot better.

Also reading The Martian by Andy Weir which I'm loving, and rereading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6) by J.K. Rowling which of course I'm loving!

I agree... The first Ixeos book was better than the second. Actually, the first was the best in the trilogy... The third is somewhere between the first and second, in my opinion.

I'm glad you're enjoying The Martian... I thought it was really good.

I finished Rebellion (Ixeos Trilogy, #2) by Jennings Wright , and it did have a good ending. The last 5% was really good. The first 95%-meh. I do want to finish the trilogy, because I want to see what happens, but I might wait a little bit.

Next ebook is Unbeautiful (Unbeautiful, #1) by Jessica Sorensen which is a PIFM book

Now I'm only three books behind on my GR goal lol. Still listening to Strings and also trying to finish a reread I started about a month or so ago.

Catherine Bruno | 771 comments Had to set TKONLG aside for now. There is just something about the way it's written that bugs me. However, I will try and pick it back up in the summer time when I'm not super stressed with closing out the school semester. So, I picked up Across the Universe instead.

The style definitely takes some getting used to (i.e. the one-line paragraphs, phonetic spellings, slang, etc.). I remember being really confused when I first started it, but after reading about half of it I didn't really notice anymore because I got so wrapped up in the story. Hopefully you'll like it more when you pick it up again! :)

i had the same problem... I got to about 20% in and set it aside... I am going to pick it back up because I've heard so many great things about the books. For now i'm just trying to get through a few other tbr

Also finished my reread of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6) by J.K. Rowling Also watched the movie tonight, and of course, I cried a bucket of tears at the end! The end of that movie is so well done. Actually, the whole movie is good, its one of my faves.

Next is Unbeautiful (Unbeautiful, #1) by Jessica Sorensen in ebook, Dance of Shadows (Dance of Shadows, #1) by Yelena Black in library book, and Me Before You (Me Before You, #1) by Jojo Moyes
