Char | 17385 comments I ended up having to DNF Full Throttle Full Throttle by Joe Hill . I can't seem to put my finger on why, but it was just a slog for me-up to 40%. I feel like I gave it enough time.
Perhaps I will come back to it at some point in the future.

I finished listening to Code Zero (Joe Ledger, #6) by Jonathan Maberry and it was just excellent-lots of action and different types of enemies and a main villain who had many different levels to her psyche. I almost started to feel bad for her. The only problem I had was listening to the last hour or so while driving. Anyone who saw me must've thought something terrible had happened, because tears were streaming down my face. This series has quickly climbed my list of favorite books series' ever and is now solidly in my top 5.

I’ve only dipped into this one thus far. I didn’t care much for “Throttle, but liked “Wolverton Station and really liked “You Are Released.

Not long ago I read my first T.M. Wright book called Strange Seed. I wasn't expected much and it blew me away! (It's why I try to avoid getting my hopes up, so I hope I don't do it to others. But check it out if you have time...you may be happily surprised like I was!)

Padders (randompadley) | -13 comments finished with,,,

Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt

unfortunately was a little underwhelmed, was getting confused with the characters (but I have taken a break from reading since having the little one so maybe I am just a little rusty)

Didn't really get going while the end for me but by then was a little too late to redeem or come back!

I was one of the few who didn't care that much for HEX. I thought it was just okay.

Dominik | 6 comments Finished reading Baltimore, or, The Steadfast Tin Soldier & the Vampire by Mike Mignola last weekend. The story was told in a wildly different way than what I had expected. But it was a gripping tale that had me sneaking in just a few more pages each night before sleep.

message 592: by Padders (new)

Old Farmer's Road by Isaiyan Morrison

would have been a perfect Halloween story, little fast paced at time but a solid little horror novel, enjoyed it overall.

message 593: by Padders (new)

Padders (randompadley) | -13 comments finished off this odd grisly little book...

Graveyard Blues (Night Blues, #1) by Reina Salt

lots of folklore, mythology and even some voodoo thrown in, little fast paced but i'll be reading the second one at some point.

Christian (wildcolonialboy) two more done for this year.

The Reckoning by Sarah Pinborough

A solid haunted house novel. Ends like a lot of good and bad horror films do with the epilogue giving me a good chuckle. 3/5

The Bridge by John Skipp & Craig Spector

Wow. This book is a bullet to the face if there ever was one. I totally understand the waves this made when originally released as it has lost none of its visceral power. A bona fide genre classic, as relevant today as it was yesterday. 5/5
