Peep (Pop! Pop!) I actually just saw this on one of my other groups, but thought I'd bring it over here. Pretty self-explanatory. Also, this thread gives us a way to stalk your bookshelf with very little effort.

I just read Storm Glass and I kind of don't recommend it. I say kind of because this seems like one where everyone else liked it except for me.

message 2: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Way to stick with your decision there Peep. "I kind of don't recommend it". :)
I just read Gone (Gone #1) by Michael Grant and would recommend it.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Hahaha. Keeps them on their toes Heidi, it keeps them on their toes.

message 4: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments I very much recommend Graceling (The Seven Kingdoms Trilogy, #1) by Kristin Cashore !!

message 5: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 56 comments I'm currently reading The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa , and I LOVE it. It's action-packed, the characters are wonderfully developed, and it actually keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's one of the best YA books I've read in a long time.

message 6: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Laura - I am listening to Graceling on my mp3 phone right now - about 1/4th into it. Amanda - I am sooooo looking forward to the Iron King! Peep - I am indeed on my toes - how did you know?? :)

message 7: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (last edited Mar 17, 2010 02:43PM) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Ok, I feel bad to say this because I know somebody is just going to have to say something, so I'll say it really fast:

I-just-finished-Outlander-and-I-kind-of-recommend-it.

Oh, and they don't have the Iron King at my library, and it's too new to get it from ILL, so I put it on order at the bookstore. I'm excited to read it.

message 8: by Lana (new)

Lana (lanajeany) | 17 comments I just looked up Iron King - wow, I had no idea Harlequin had a teen division!

I thought Graceling was beautiful. I especially liked its Epilogue (I know, that sounds like an odd compliment but so many books have uninspired Epilogues).

I just finished "If I Stay" and thought it was moving. Very quick and easy read at just 200 pages.

message 9: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Peep - saying it super fast does not deflect from your wishy washyness any less.

message 10: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) It's practically a medical condition - cut me some slack here!

You know, it's hard to recommend a book when you hate the near ending.

message 11: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Peep - I found this on Wikipedia. "Decidophobia is the overwhelming, irrational fear of making decisions. "
Sound like anyone you know :)
I recently read When You Reach Me and recommend it.

I am SO telling my girlfriend about this because I SWEAR she has it! Haha! (Oh, and Peep I think you might have it too.) ;)

message 13: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Wow! I'm almost positive that describes me perfectly. Hey, but I never said I was good at making decisions!

message 14: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Peep - you can't even decide if you are decidophobe
("I am ALMOST positive"). You know I'm just kidding - right? :)

message 15: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Oh ye of little faith... did you really have to point that out? Sheesh, it's only my decision making skills that would be affected....

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Heidi wrote: "Peep - you can't even decide if you are decidophobe

ROFL! We pick on Peep for her indecisiveness, pick on me for my Edward obsession, but what can we pick on YOU for, my dear? We'll find something, just wait! Hehe!

Did you read the Yelena books? I read Storm Glass and was into it but not as much as the Study books but then I read Sea Glass and liked it a lot. So I would recommend both but I can see if you didn't read the Study books not really getting into it. If that makes any sense.

message 18: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I read the Poison Study and really liked it. I have Sea Glass, and I wasn't going to read it but now I have to read it because you said you liked it!

I also have Inside Out to read so you'll hear about that one, too! Thanks for the recommendations Jamie!

She can't be that perfect... we'll find that weakness of hers, oh yes we will. At the very least we can pick on the sheer number of mysteries she reads.

BTW I am now on Faefever - I am liking the fever series. I kind of want to smack the crap out of Mac for not really getting that Barrons is all about her but I think she will come around eventually.

LOVE this series! Love, love, love it! I want to smack her for not trying to seduce him. Haha!

The Fever Series is my FAVORITE series of all time. You'll LOVE Dreamfever, and then you'll want to pull your hair out when you have to wait with the rest of us until December for Shadowfever.

message 23: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) At least I know I have a support group I can lean on. Barrons.....sigh. Glad to hear you like the book so far Jaimie! I understand about wanting to smack Mac, Ask Shannon whether or not I messaged her my screams.

Amanda and Jaimie, you just became useful to me ;)

message 24: by Heidi (new)

Heidi OMG. I am trying my hardest to finish my current audiobook in the car (taking the long way home - running extra errands), all so I can start the audiobook for Dark Fever, which is ever so patiently sitting in the back seat of my car. Perhaps I will have to take an extra long road trip this weekend to speed things along because you girls have me chomping at the bit to start it! p.s. I am far from perfect, so I have every faith in you (Peep & Shannen) finding and attacking one my many weakness(s).

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I never felt like I wanted to smack Mac but I know Peep did. If Heidi doesn't like it, then we can make fun of her for it. :) Or at least it will inspire a new bookshelf. LOL

message 26: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 56 comments Remember that Mac and Barrons and the entire KMM crew all have Facebook pages now. So you can smack them there, if you want. :) It's actually really amusing to have them on your "fans" list, because their status updates are hilarious.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree, Amanda. I love seeing their status updates. Especially Dani!

message 28: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments I finished Dreamfever yesterday and I am sad. I don't know what to make of the ending. I don't want to drop spoilers for those who haven't read it yet so I will just say that I have moved past wanting to smack Mac and just want to make it all better for her.

message 29: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 56 comments I almost cried, Jaimie. UGH. I'm there with ya. December cannot come fast enough.

I think I'm going to need some serious counseling after the fever series is over. I've been following it since it first came out, and I'm hoping I won't be let down when its all over.

KMM had better start something new soon.

message 30: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Someone go create a Fever Series topic put Contains Spoilers in the title so we can talk about it!

message 31: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments done!

message 32: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) See you there! :P

message 33: by Susan (new)

Susan What is this Fever series you guys keep talking about? Is this something I should be reading??? LOL

message 34: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Its not YA but it is pretty good. Peep got me into it. Paranormal/fae not really romance but that is where it was in my bookstore.

message 35: by Susan (new)

Susan okay so who is the author??? Feed my need ladies!!! LOL

message 36: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Well Shannen told me about it. It's really, really good. Jaimie did a really good job explaining it. It's like an adventure mystery maybe? Certainly not YA.

I wouldn't go in the thread we created because it's got major spoilers in there.

Are you sure you have room on that MEGA to be read list you have there Susan?! ;) By far the biggest on GR that I've seen. :)

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

The series is by Karen Marie Moning and the first book is Darkfever. It is SO addicting!

message 38: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) They're by Karen Marie Moning. There are four books written so far. The fifth and final one comes out in December. I can't wait. You should read it and join us in the discussion over there. Most of it is us fawning over Barrons or talking about how funny Mac is.

message 39: by Susan (last edited Mar 24, 2010 11:42AM) (new)

Susan Peep, I have a big addiction.......PLEASE tell me who the author is.....is it Maggie S????? I might even have them on my TBR list-LMAO!!!

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

See my post above. :)

message 41: by Susan (new)

Susan Thank you Shannen!!!

message 42: by Susan (new)

Susan Hey guess what?? They are on my TBR list-LOL!!!

message 43: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) LOL, looks like we were all posting at the same time. I promise I wasn't holding out on you Shannen!

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

For anyone interested, here is a link to the prologue and first chapter of Darkfever:

message 45: by Susan (new)
