Maybe, but I still liked it a lot, althought it did start a little slow.

new_user Amanda, if it helps, I've heard Summoning has no romance and Fallen is supposed to be good. I've heard people say Tithe is a little too much, but I haven't read it, so I can't say.

Yes and no for the Summoning. You know that there is something there but nothing is happening! And that's the same for the sequel. I've heard the same thing with Tithe and everybody I know is telling me to read fallen so.. who knows!

Suz, I think I'm going to start Divine Misdemeanors today, too. I haven't heard very good things though, so I'm a bit afraid.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm finally going to begin Julie Garwood's Claybornes since I've read every other historical by her. Book 1 is For the Roses .

Oow how did you like Blood Promise?

message 1365: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jnhart) | 97 comments Heather,

I thought Blood Promise was pretty good. But I can't wait for the next book. I MUST know what happens!

message 1366: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) OMG! I so know what you mean, I've been waiting for that book to come out for I read Blood Promise right when it came out, so I've been waiting a while and it still feels like forever till it comes out. I also like Blood Promise but found that it started a little slow and there were some other things I didn't like, but they weren't things that I thought made the book bad or anything I just didn't like that they happened, but your not going to like everything that happens in a book and that's part of what makes them so interesting.

message 1371: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) I just finished Dark Lover yesterday, it was awesome! I can't wait to read the others in the series.

Now I don't know what book to read now, it between theses:
Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender The Splendor Falls by Rosemary Clement-Moore The Van Alen Legacy (Blue Bloods, #4) by Melissa de la Cruz Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick Devoured by Amanda Marrone The Host by Stephenie Meyer Testimony by Anita Shreve Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
I just can't pick wich one :S Anyone have any suggestions?

message 1372: by FlibBityFLooB (new)

FlibBityFLooB | 0 comments The Host makes a lot of people cry, if you're into that sort of thing... Though, most people agree it starts out pretty slow.

message 1373: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments For what it's worth, I've got Hush, Hush and Shiver on my list, so I'd go with one of those. The Host was very good, but it does take about 100 or so pages to build the world. It took me a while to get into it--at least until the action of the story got going. Then I loved it.

I hated Blue Bloods, so I never finished the first book.

message 1374: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) Ya I've heard a lot of different oppinions on the Host, some people loved it, some hated it, some say it's okay, the reviews are kind of all over the place.

I read HUSH, HUSH and it was okay. The Blue Bloods books went down hill really fast and I have no interest in the VAN ALEN LEGACY. I tried reading THE HOST when it first came out, but couldn't get into it. I'll try again one of these days.

message 1376: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Melodie, I didn't get into The Host either. In fact, I stopped reading it after the first 80-100 pages!
The Van Alen Legacy... Well, I read the first one; but it was basically a book discribing fashion with a supernatural twist and I haven't read anymore since!

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Started, Fallen today, by Lauren Kate. Loving it so far!

I ♥ Bookie Nookie (bookienookiereviews.blogspot.com) (ibookienookie) I just finished another awesome installment of the Riley Jensen Were-vamp series,

Let's just say I miss Thursday Next. I'm making myself read Shades, just because it's Fforde. It's OK, but not nearly as engaging to me as Thursday's world. It's not bad, though, since it still has Fforde's intelligent brand of humor and satire. It's also a bit darker than the Thursday books. You'll have to post what you think when you get it.

Mariah wrote: "Is this a worthy series to tap into??"

YES! I've only read Full Moon Rising #1, but it was verrrrry good. I'm hoping to pull the rest off my TBR shelf soon. Cherra's right to recommend it.

message 1391: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I just finished Red (Dead World, #1) by Jordan Summers and really enjoyed it. It was kind of a Sci-Fi-ish paranormal romance about werewolves. A really good 1st book in the series. A really strong heroine lead character, which I love! I moving on to Eve of Destruction (Marked, Book 2) by S.J. Day next.

Alright Mariah and Heather--The Riley Jensen Series--I Love it! It is totally worth starting. In a nut shell, the series is about the Jensen twins who are half vampire and half werewolf. Riley Jensen is the main focus of the series, but her gay twin brother makes frequent appearances. They are members of an elite team called the Directorate--they are in charge of policing the "other" races, meaning all but the humans. Of-course there is a back story that links all the books together, but what I think has kept me most interested in the books is that the back story changes and has successfully kept me wanting more. I loved the BDB series...big fan...but the lesser story connecting the books got boring after a while and I found myself skimming thru those parts.

This is a great book if you are looking for action and some action...if you get my drift. The weres are super sexual and Riley sees nothing wrong with having sex with random strangers on the dance floor b/c it is in her wolf nature to do so. Also a great book if you like Urban Fantasy Romance -- everything does not tie up with a pretty little bow at the end of each book. Although Riley is a total ho, you can't help but love her--she is a great heroine.

Here are links to my actual reviews if you need more info and so you know the order of the books :-)
