(1) "Running at Ron, [Hermione] flung [her arms] around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron ... responded with such enthusiasm that he lifted Hermione off her feet."
- Huh, it's a lot more aggressive in the book.
(2) Harry: "D'you think you could just just hold it in until we’ve got the diadem?"
Ron: "Yeah right sorry."
- I bet he's not really sorry.

(1) My audiobook re-read of "Harry Potter" is nearly at an end. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great discussion and enthusiasm. It was like having one big buddy-read with hundreds, even thousands, of people. I know many of you friended and followed me because of my "Harry Potter" updates, and I hope you decide to stick around for what comes next :)

(1) Voldemort: "Pick up your little friend, Hagrid. And the glasses put on the glasses he must be recognizable "
- Of course, the glasses... otherwise he'd be totally unrecognizable... a regular Clark Kent.
(2) Molly: "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH! ... OUT OF MY WAY! ... Get back! Get back! She is mine!"
- Well, at least we know where Ron gets his foul mouth from.

(1) '"Explain," said Harry.
"But you already know," said Dumbledore. He twiddled his thumbs.'
- Always the teacher, Dumbledore. Makes you sound it out.
(2) Dumbledore: "Your wand imbibed some of the power and qualities of Voldemort’s wand ... and it regurgitated some of his own magic against him."
- Yuck! Voldemort magic apparently doesn't sit well in a wand's belly.

(1) "He felt his heart pounding fiercely in his chest. How strange that in his dread of death, it pumped all the harder, valiantly keeping him alive."
- I don't find it strange at all. Harry's dreading death, after all.
(2) "He saw the mouth move and a flash of green light, and everything was gone."
- Huh, I thought Voldemort was more proficient in non-verbal spells.

(2) Lily: "You call everyone of my birth Mudblood, Severus. Why should I be any different?"
(3) Phineas Nigellus: "They are camping in the Forest of Dean! The Mudblood "
Snape: "Do not use that word!"
- That, boys and girls, is what we call a "character arc."

(1) "A lone clog, the size of a small boat, lay abandoned in front of them. There was no other sign of Grawp or of his attacker."
- Huh, didn't know Grawp was Dutch, wooden shoes and all.
- Kidding. Hagrid found him east of Minsk so he's likely Russian.
(2) Snape: "You’re a witch."
Lily: "That’s not a very nice thing to say to somebody!"
- I mean, what do you expect?

(1) Goyle: "You was looking for a die-dum! What’s a die-dum?"
- I bet Goyle will die dumb.
(2) Ron: "If we die for them, I’ll kill you, Harry!"
- Can the dead be killed?
(3) Hermione: "Are you a wizard, or what?"
Ron: "Oh right yeah Wingardium Leviosa!"
- Nice callback to the first book, where the roles were reversed. Also, to the first spell they ever learned.

(1) '"Our headmaster is taking a short break," said Professor McGonagall, pointing at the Snape-shaped hole in the window.'
- So much sass.
(2) I find it hard to believe that Dumbledore never knew about the Room of Requirement.
(3) '"It was Ron, all Ron’s idea! said Hermione breathlessly. "Wasn’t it absolutely brilliant?"'
- Ron being brilliant makes Hermione swoon.

Notes:
(1) Harry uses the Cruciatus Curse and McGonagall uses the Imperius Curse. Sure, rules get thrown out when it comes to war, but do the ends justify the means?
(2) In the film McGonagall duels Snape one-on-one until he flees. In the book, it's Flitwick that runs Snape off.
(3) 'Professor McGonagall dryly, "we teachers are rather good at magic, you know."'
- Ha! Sassy.

Lavender: " and thought they’d quite like to wash, yes."

Makes sense. Spending all the time together, it'd be kind of like being raised under the same roof. 🤷♂

You forgot that part. That is the part that made me laugh for hours.

Ah, the things that must go through people's heads when they watch us read. 😂

Darn character limits! So many quotes go un-highlighted :)

Yes, perhaps we should keep it to English from now on :)

Okay, Sienna, I've warned you about saying "hi" in my comments already. Behave or I'll have to block you. That goes for everyone else too. Any "hi" or "heyyyy" will be deleted. This is not a personal chat room.

Please don't broadcast an invitation for people to come here and chat. I will delete those messages and block users who try to hijack my comment sections for personal use, as I don't want them to be swarmed with random chatter. Host "chats" in your own comments, please :)

Well, it seems from the gif that she held his head until he turned it to the point where she no longer could. As you can see from the gif below, her hand is apparently clenched in a fist against the base of her neck. So, it seems like Ron overwhelmed her and she took a much more submissive posture, or so it appears. 🤷♂

Lmao!!!! Oh my. Gotta love it. 😂🤣😂🤣

Edited to predict Dumbledore cheers gif next 😂 🤣

Well, you're close... it's the Sirius cheers gif :)

Actually, I was going to put baby girl thumbs-up, but this is better 😉

Habits are hard to break. Harry's been third-wheeling it since at least the third book :)

Oh my God, I just imagined him in their first date and them being all done with him being there *lmao*

I always thought we really missed out of a Ron/Hermione relationship storyline. To me, all the Lavender stuff should have been moved to the fifth book, then the sixth book could be a kind of rom-com, with Harry as the in-the-way third-wheel until he gets with Ginny. But that's just my personal fanfic :)

Harry's the best third-wheel in all of fiction!

I always thought we really missed out of a Ron/Hermione relatio..."
Ohhh, I like that!!!!
It would have been very interesting to really see them trying to sort out a relationship *nods frantically* And it could have worked because Hermione has "love interest" in both fourth - Krum - and fifth - Cormac - books and if we eliminated one it could have fit perfectly.

I think the fifth book was more or less relationship-free, unless you count Harry and Cho as a thing... or Ginny with Michael Corner. Cormac, I think, wasn't so much a relationship as he was a used by Hermione to make Ron jealous in the sixth book, which I think only made him angry.
Regardless, a relationship storyline would have been much more satisfying and made much more sense than finally getting together because of elf rights.

Hmm, I suppose you're right with the whole Cormac thing. SOmetimes I can't keep the books straight XD

I'd have been confused too had I not just read it. It's a very long and complex series :)
