My brain hurts.
In this scene Elena is surprised that Nino even though he's not a believer insists on baptizing their child. Meanwhile in the third book Pietro insists on not baptizing the child and on the matter of not getting married in a church he says to Elena's mother surely Elena wouldn't want to be with someone who's actions are very different form his words. The damn parallels!!!!!!!!

The way Elena is traumatizing her children is utterly unacceptable. She has always been superficial even in motherhood. She deserves what she will get in the future.
