Why is there just SO MUCH of that atheist tolerance in the comments?

Starfish Prime Because Christians, being part of the dominant religion in the West, have generally shown us nothing but hate and discrimination. I am not a pushy atheist, in fact I'm pretty indifferent about it, but all I have to do is identify with that "a" word and people react like I just said I'm a child molester or a terrorist or something. I don't judge people based on their metaphysical positions. All I ask is that you do the same thing in return.

Yes, I know. Not ALL Christians are bad people. I'm not a child, you don't have to remind me. In fact, I like the majority of you individually, but as a group, you discriminate against people of other faiths or of no faith wherever you're the majority religion.

I was once a young, bitter atheist like the people writing those comments, and I know the place where it comes from. It's that combination of persecution and youth that makes people say ignorant things.

And yes, we ARE persecuted. All you have to do is ASK ONE OF US what it's like. (Again, you don't have to remind me that Christians are persecuted in some parts of the world too. In the west, you're not. Period.)

Have some self awareness, Christians. If you want atheists to be kinder to you, be kinder to atheists. Ask yourself if you're the reason why atheists are so bitter.

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

- Matthew 7:12
Alex Seriously, I'm Christian, but these asinine reviews are irritating as heck. All these atheists going in to just label it a work of fiction and give it one star. Seriously, why bother attempting to read the Bible if you already know you're not going to agree with it? Makes no f-ing sense. I don't believe in Greek gods, yet I still enjoy the Percy Jackson series. The reviews section needs to be cleaned or disabled. While atheist tolerance may be up in here, Christian tolerance isn't. I'm sorry, but I believe in the Bible, and see many of the stories as true, and the allegories as symbols of nature. Why would I read the bible? Because I'm Christian. Why would an atheist? Most likely to research religion, but in this case, to just give negative reviews.
Kyle Nicholas Ah, feel that Christian love, that tolerance and turning of the cheek. Obviously you've read this book and obey its precepts to the letter.
Damien Zehnder Why should there not be? The days of when Christians could just silence dissent are long over.
Dan Atheists believe that NO BOOK should affect this many people's lives this deeply. Atheists want all people to live for themselves, and in the service of loving each other. Not in the service of, or loving, God.

That's it plain and simple, from a kind, non-spiteful atheist :)
Jason Sullivan Because atheists never learned morals or values (as they prove by their comments). Whereas the religious have, and they are tolerant of those who are weak and misguided.
Richard Nibbler The Bible (along with the Koran) are the justification of slavery for the last 1000 years. That might have something to do with it?

VITOR BRAGA Santos Let's have mercy of their souls! They don't know what they are doing, that they are fulling themselves with evolution fiction garbage, at the point of calling the truth fiction.

Everyone will get what they deserve at the end.

If you accept and trust in Jesus, baptized in the Holy Spirit? GREAT you saved.

Anything else is pure distraction.

Let's see who is right at the end.

Benjamin Stahl Most of them are just upset that, despite their efforts to undermine the book's rating (probably without actually reading it, for many of them), they are still just the inevitable, bitter minority that cries the loudest as it fears the most.
