Hello, I'm visiting your Authors Page after reading 'beneath a meth moon', and I want to say thank you for this story. I was wondering how did you get into Laurel's head and heart so intimately? Everything is so deeply felt, Laurel really came alive for me. Also, what's the recommended age for this book? Looking forward to discovering your other books!

I've followed your career for years. When I was first starting out as an author, I'd see your stuff and I was so envious. "Who is this ol' Jacqueline Woodson, anyway?" I've learned exactly who she is and I've grown up enough as a writer to know it is better to feel inspired than envious.
