One of my favorite books ever. And I liked Flip. This was so so. Carson has a LOT of insecurities and it got a bit tedious. He couldn’t believe what Mak was saying to his face despite his number one rule being they have to be honest with each other. And he proceeded to not be honest with her after that as well. It was frustrating. That said, the sex was hot.
No cheating. No real breakup (though the infuriating MMC tries because she’s “too good for him ugh). Primal play. Anal. Pain and breath play. Cum and spit play. No protection.
Neither MC wants either marriage or children. He collars her in the epilogue. Meh. Not my preference but that’s fine. Doesn’t hold a damn candle to Glitch. ...more

I like Nora. She had a horrible relationship experience with a sitting congressman when she was 20-23 and literally escaped with a few dollars and jewelry in the middle of the night, changed names, deleted socials, cut off friends and her (admittedly already emotionally distant) family, and moved across the country. So when a government agency for paranormals tells her she is the mate of a kracken she is terrified Daniel will be able to find her now (which turns out to be a very valid fear as he is a congressman on the committee overseeing the paranormal citizen relations bureau and does track her down that way). I think she responds like any trauma victim would and it’s realistic. I loved the insight to her struggles to accept that Elias is different and doesn’t want to control her but just love her. It was refreshing to see a character buck at the idea of fated mates and belonging to someone else. It made sense given her history. And while I think she adapted quickly especially considering her trauma, it was a nice character development dynamic.
Elias was sweet but GOOD GOD did he annoy me sometimes. He constantly talked about wanting to claim and fuck her but was holding back with her to make her love him first despite her telling him she was ready for more intimacy in the budding relationship. Then he would “lose control and they would be physical and the next day he would tell her they had to back up and take it slow so she could develop feelings for him first. As if 1, they were mutually exclusive and 2, he hadn’t already done those things and 3, she was a toddler who couldn’t make up her own mind. She TOLD HIM it was fine. They both wanted it and are adults. . . STOP GATEKEEPING DICK. It felt manipulative. Ugh.
I didn’t understand Daniel. I mean, I get who he is. He is abusive and cruel. But like. Why did he still want Nora? There are 50,000 women in the DC area alone that would be a fine match for him and she embarrassed him by leaving. So why focus on her? He doesn’t want her back. It’s so weird. And Nora. Girl. Basic safety. NEVER GO TO A SECOND LOCATION. Always fight. Even if you get shot in public your chances are better. How stupid is this bitch?
Overall it was good but the book could have easily been 100 pages shorter.
Some OMD but she doesn’t want him. No cheating. No breakup. Different peen. Monster. Stretch and stuffing. No pregnancy (except bonus 2nd epilogue 4 years later he impregnates her with his egg). Epilogue is 8 months from end of book. ...more

Scared timid omega who needs to be protected and owned and punished by her superior alpha male mates. Misogynistic? Oh yeah. But I ate it up. It’s easier when I know to expect it. And sometimes it hits just right.
There is almost not plot besides the sex (which had to be like 70% of the book) and protecting her from bad guys. But I loved it.
Knotting. Omegaverse. Virgin FMC. One shifter. No cheating. Some OWD (barmaid who previously fucked one of the MMCs makes FMC jealous). No OMD (Except that she is almost stolen and raped). No breakup. Biting. Breeding. ...more
