There was no chemistry. Their relationship was toxic. I didn’t care about any of the MCs. No one’s motivations made sense. Everyone was willfully stupid. And it was just gratuitous improbable smut.
Basically the book is terrible. From characters to plot to conflict to perspective to climax and to resolution. A truly garbage read. In every conceivable way this book is trash. But I fucking enjoyed it.

It wasn’t just that it was cringy and a clumsy plot, that can be forgiven for some good smut (and to be fair, the smut was pretty good). It was the horrible manipulation by everyone involved against our poor MMC. He could not have been more clear. He doesn’t want a wife. He doesn’t want children. But these horrible people in his life (3 brothers and their human wives) completely disregard this and get him a wife that they “gift� to him in a cake. Publicly. On his birthday. He then tells the woman she is lovely but he doesn’t want a wife and will need to bring her back to the temple and SHE starts manipulating him too. Including getting him to sleep with her so he will fall in love with her. But the family doesn’t stop there. They give her tips to seduce him and force her to be able to stay. It’s really awful. And on top of that the dialogue is cringy, their is no chemistry, and the plot is both boring and overly dramatic for no reason.
Be smarter than I am and skip this one.
