I truly loved the basis of the book, a Beauty and Beast meets Phantom of the Opera style story with a faerie twist. Honestly I actually probably would have absolutely loved the book if it wasn’t loaded with a ton of filler dialogue... I mean I almost screamed when we started podcasting...
I am sure people with impeccable patience will love this book, I unfortunately read shorter books because of my incredible lack of.

Really I was so This was a beautiful mm retelling of Beauty and the Beast, one that I picked last minute and decided to stay up all night and finish.
Really I was so ready to just slap a 5 star on this and call it a day because really it was a great story, unfortunately the ending didn’t really live up to the rest of the story so I’ve knocked it down a peg... now time for sleep.
Wowza.... This was so fucked up, brutal, and disgusting that it was a train wreak I just couldn’t take my eyes off of it.

While I didn’t mind the brutalness of the story, I really found the sex senses quite disgusting at times and that’s the only thing that really stopped me from enjoying it more than I did.
Seriously though, this is all kinds of rapey with a good dose of brutality and whole lot of semen and piss... it’s not for the weak of heart or anyone triggered by anything slightly dark and disgusting. ...more

It must be a yaoi/manga thing to always have a player in the story... maybe idk... I’m not very versed in them I just enjoy them occasionally. But I can easily hate some so undeserving of our beastly demon, and in this case that was Liam. Anyways I might pursue Volume 2... not to sure yet. ...more

Blah... I don’t know why I keep grabbing this authors book... (sadly you’ll see that I’ve said that in almost all of my reviews for this author except the first one...) obviously I don’t learn... ever.
This story truly wasn’t horrible, I liked the beauty and beast plot line and the story was well executed until it got into the sexual nature of the story, and from there is just got awkward... not the sex acts per se but the conversations and the word play of those acts. It’s like Zane went from being this hermit of a guy that spoke in bashful tones to having phone sex sounding like a business man with etiquette and a suit. It was just awkward to me..
Spoilers.....
I also kind of hated Zane at times, he never really took the step to break his curse and just left Felix hanging. In fact the person responsible for the curse had to do all the damn work for him to break the curse... uncool dude... uncool....more

Tiffany Roberts is a writing duo that I have both enjoyed and hated in the past. My main love for the duo is the unique stories they bring to the paranormal world. It’s like they sometimes know what I’m looking for before I do. Where those stories tend to fail for me though is in the actually writing.
For this book in particular it was one of my biggest pet peeves that turned me off... the whole “oh man I want him so much!!! ...(literally less than 2 seconds later)... “oh but NO!!!! I can’t do this... ....(literally a half second later.)... “whatever I guess I’ll just spread my vagina... barf... ...more

I did the story and it was well written and like other Lyn Gala books I’ve read it was exceptionally unique. If you don’t mind a little squirm than I definitely recommend it.
Now I will admit that I’ve read a whole plethora of alien smut (and Fae smut... you know some of that shit gets weird too), but I’m not sure I could count this one as believable. Now I’ve read other tentacle books before but most were still attached to hominid body types, I’ve never read about a full blown octopus type species... So in reality where I did find there friendship believable I did not fine the romance believable.

“Tell me about your captain, Peggy said, resting her cheek on her hand. “What’s he like?
Juniper thought for a moment, then chuckled. “Well, he’s bossy, but at the same time, he’s seriously lacking in self-confidence, so he takes everything as an insult and blows his top easily. And he can be cold and distant, but I think that’s because he’s Ghelyxian. Oh, and he snores something awful. Peggy made a face. “He sounds wonderful. Laughing, Juniper held out his hand. “Pass me the pliers. He took them from Peggy and resumed his work on the broken garburator. “I don’t know him all that well, to be honest. We did have the excitement of the mating ritual but even that didn’t spike my interests. There was also a few plot holes in the beginning but nothing major.
I am not sure if there will be another book in this series... I mean this one was written 10 years after the first. If there is a third book I hope they don’t all of a sudden pull that “needing a heir bs. I thought they might pull it in this one but Talos made it pretty clear that wouldn’t be an issues. (It’s a major peeve of mine though so I figured I’d mention it)
Also, A+++ for weird alien sex again. Maybe not as shocking as book one but still up there.
Talos’s guttural reaction shot a thrill through the pirate. He loved being able to affect the stoic warrior like this, loved knowing he could take the hunter down to his most primitive level. He liked knowing Talos was just as hungry for him as he was for the warrior. It lessened his fears....more

In the beginning AWhere to start here?.?.?... for the most part I enjoyed this book. There were parts I loved and parts that just didn’t work for me.
In the beginning Aiden was a little tstl, now I’ve never used that phrase before, never really felt the need to but his character in the beginning was way to stupid to live. Obviously.... So he’s an arrogant young captain of his boat, he talked about how he’s so good he can give his back to Perkins (I think that was his name) because he’s confident in his position as captain. And not a few pages later he says he’s smart enough to not turn his back on him. And then 5 pages later he’s in the process of being murdered... a lot of misplaced ego there.
Anyways the rest of the book was on and off again enjoyable, the humor and randomness of Aiden was the best. There were a few plot holes I would have liked filled such as the Cemi statue that Aiden carried and how it might actually relate to Talos people, as well as a few other things here and there. The romance was a little off kilter at times and never really felt genuine.
So in the end I might have settled for a 3.5 star, maybe even a 3... But in all honesty I am bumping this bad boy up to 4 just for the alien genitalia. I have read some weird shit....... bit this takes the cake... hardcore cake... cock that maneuvers like snake cake...tentacle pubes cake... his dick grabbed my dick and put them both in his ass kind of cake...
Ok I’m done... I should really not write reviews when I’m tired. (I know, you’re having a long thought about that cake too...)...more

What an odd book this was, not in the smutty sci-fi story kind of way, but in the odd characters. It had a kind of a Beauty and the Beast style trope, except it was more a Twink and the Billygoat, and the twink didn’t think the billygoat was a beast but a beauty...

Thankfully this one did have a plot and it wasn’t completely awful. I was Beauty and the Beast/Cinderella/reverse Snow White monstrosity of a plot, but a plot none the less.
I am unsure of this authors work but I’m going to take a wild guess and say maybe this is their first book??? Which would make some sense to me. Like I said the story wasn’t awful, but the writing did not do it for me, it had all the marks for a good story but fell short. If this is the authors 1st I will probably look into some of her other books to see how her writing progressed. If it’s not I want you to shoot me in the foot when I decide to read another one.... cause you know I will... 🙄...more

This book finishes off this beauty and the beast retelling with Sorcha trying to live and deal with her life after Eamonn sent her away. She’s a changed woman and although she still wants to heal her people she also wants more from life. After some family intervention Sorcha is on a path of healing and her writing destiny.
Eamonn has been fighting and surviving non stop since the day his brother declared war and he had to send Sorcha away. But he has changed as well, blood lust drives him and feeling and emotions evade him.
Things changes when stubborn Sorcha finds her way back to the otherworld and to him. 5 years have past in the otherworld but Sorcha is still hoping to spread her healing as well as heal the man she cares for the most.
As the book progressed Sorcha and Eamonn are still learning and growing, not only as a couple but as people and as leaders. They have two different ideas on winning back the thrown and saving Eamonn’s people.
I really enjoyed the first half of this book, but the second half kind of drug on for me. That could just be my second book syndrome talking, I know I should never read a continuation/conclusion book right after the first one, I usually tend to lose a little interest. A few things irked me here and there, mainly the fact that big deals seemed to be solved so easily like they never happened. If you’re going to make a big deal about something then give me some drama about it.
Anywho, you can bet your tits I am still going to read the next in the series! Little mermaid retelling? Yes please. (Just not next lol)
I always love a good beauty and the beast retelling, add a strong feisty heroine and some fae culture and is call it a hit. I can’t wait to start bookI always love a good beauty and the beast retelling, add a strong feisty heroine and some fae culture and is call it a hit. I can’t wait to start book two for the conclusion.
We have Sorcha, she’s a freckled redheaded healer full of fire that’s trying to save her family and people from a plague. She’s grown up with the ways of the fae when everyone else had put it behind them. One day she’s offered a deal, bring back a long lost master and she’ll have her cure. The only problem? You’re never supposed to make a deal with with a fae.
Eamonn - is a lost seelie prince whom was betrayed by his family and banished from his home and people, because they think him a monster due to the crystals that grow from his wounds. The last thing he expects after centuries of brooding is a spite fire that shows up pushing his buttons and demanding he return to human realm for a cure that probably won’t be there when they return.
Underneath everything else there is destiny being written and a war brewing.
My only reason for the 4 Star rather than 5 is some editing issues that bothered me. The main being I did not like names showing up in the story line when they should be there. Example- Sorcha is speaking with the Seelie King and she uses Eamonn’s name in her train of thought. “She wanted to trust him if only because he looked like Eamonn the only issue with this is she has yet to learn his name, so why would she be using it in her thought? She has been calling him Stone, until late in the books when he finally shares his name. This happens quite a few a times throughout the book. ...more

The other books I’ve read have been pretty bland with no depth, but this series is not only unique but it’s got so much depth you can drown in it. The connection and the buildup between the characters is always fantastic and can be felt. Sometimes you can’t even get that from well developed authors, which again is something I don’t feel in their other books.
I will say that it is disturbing how they make you fall in love with the weirdest alien fish men I’ve ever read about... half human half octopus?? No thanks... and thanks at the same time. It’s wondrous.
