The story was not half bad but the editing was beyond atrocious. Wrong words, using the wrong persons names... multiple times...

I really loved both characters, but their “coming together is where things didn’t really flush out for me.
Spoilerish below...
Throughout the book Raine is very reserved and somewhat “uptight in his own specific way. I really just didn’t believe he could turn into such a needy mess, with the sudden need for domination with someone he’d been so held together around. It was like all walls dropped in an instant and he went from Raine, uptight lawyer extraordinaire, to needy club twink in an instant, just didn’t work for me. ...more

Anywho I was fully intent on skipping this book until I saw the 3rd installment was Socially Orcward and then I realized I just must read them!
I was more than pleased that this book was just a fun loving book about a doomed rag-tag-bunch rando’s. I loved Loth’s excessive rambling and the banter in this book.
What I really wanted most from this book was Grub’s POV... it really dragged down the book for me.

Premises for this book sounded amazing, but the execution was a pretty flat and one-dimensional for me.
That being said if it was shorter I probably would have ended up finishing it. Unfortunately though, this book is the start to a series and you can tell the author felt like they had to introduce all the key players in the first book, which is completely unnecessary. They also decided to insert the foundation for 2 other romances into the first half of this book(Ivan and Jamie + Seth and Gio, could have been more in the 2nd half), also completely unnecessary.
In the end Bruno and Thomaz were my favorite character, and they aren’t even the main character, they are the dog and the cook...
Honestly if I had rated it would have been under 3 stars. I do love it when newer writers of my favorite genre appear though, so I wish the author the best and can’t wait to see how they grow as a writer. ...more

It’s been awhile since I’ve picked this author up, but I’m determined to get through their books so that I can one day get to their more recent stuff... I do hope it continues improving, and although it’s been awhile I do believe I enjoyed this one more than others I’ve read. Could just be my current “sweet and simple mindset though.... ...more

So I’m automatically upset when we get the first real look at the characters and the timeline... This book takes place in like the 60’s... yea that cover is not the 60s...
So timeline and cover aside I did really enjoy the beginning of this book. It was fast paced and exiting, the middle kind of drug and I was worried I’d lose interest.
Idk I really don’t have a lot to say on it. I think for the most part we were given enough information to enjoy it, but not enough to crave it, so book 2 will be probably be a no go for me. ...more

While I really wanted to read something longer that had been on my TBR, when the urge to read hit me it was pretty late and I wanted something quick I could finish in just a few hours.
For me this book was exactly what I needed. It was an author I’m familiar with and have enjoyed, it was under 100 pages and it was a simple and sweet dragon romance with excessive talk of treasure. Muy perfecto.
I’m hoping this book broke some ground for me to get back into reading, but I assume only time will tell. ...more

Megan Der is an enigma...
Spoilerish....
If you are familiar with her work you probably know that not all of her books contain sex. If I were to guess I’d say it’s mainly her shorter novella that are kept pretty clean and her longer books that get all the nasties (the good nasties)...
Considering this book was filled with a lot of short stories, I fully expected there to be just sweet, sweet romance with no sex. This was pretty much true except for of course the romance between 2 brothers.
I just love soo much that Derr keeps it sweet and simple with no sex for many stories and then doesn’t pull any punches and gives you hot sex between brothers. It’s fucking fantastic. There does end up being one more sex scene towards the end of the book but not nearly as hot, or taboo.
In the end the only story I didn’t enjoy was The Innkeeper. ...more

This wasn’t my favorite in the bunch, I felt a lot of stuff got lost in translation with trying to shuffle 3 mates instead of 2. But... this book brought a whole other level to the world building and that is what it the most exciting to see.
It also reminds me I need to go read Making Bubbles since both Stingray and Flounder are in this book for scene, and I assume will play a bigger part in the next book... I just need to find out where to get it now......more

While I enjoyed this as a short mindless read (I like those a lot) I always hope there will be something else to draw me in. Some humor maybe? Some sass?An enemies to lovers trope? A taboo-ish mpreg? Anything at all really to add to the ABO world. Unfortunately for me this was just flat and didn’t call to me.
I honestly couldn’t connect or care for any of the characters. There was probably more renovation talk in this book than actual plot... maybe I understand that the author is trying to build the world for the future books, but it really took away from this one IMO. ...more

I like to read these when I finish something and want to squeeze another small read in, in the same day. Usually they are simple and sweet and I really enjoy them. Unfortunately me and this author don’t seem to get on together.
The story was ok, but I felt like issues that were brought up in the relationship were left unanswered and pretty much forgotten... why even bring them up?
In reality the author completely killed any enjoyment I had in this book in the last 8 or so pages when they made where good ole uncle Larry was getting sweet on Cam’s dad, and they were “probably in the broom closet getting it on.... did the author forget about Ivan? Unfortunately, I can’t in good conscience rate this higher due to editing issues. I mean the blurb says the omegas name is Max..... but in the book it’s Noah... (to be fair the blurb on Amazon is correct) there were also instances of the wrong name being used. Sometimes that wouldn’t irritate me as much, but when you have strep irritation is x10......more
