Really it was just a big info dump I can’t remember if “Their Vampire Queen also started this way but I really don’t think so.

As usually I love both the humor and the amazing story line, but the romance really fell flat for me I’m the beginning I was enjoying the buildup, but it honestly seemed to just fall flat for in the in the end. Maybe I’m broken? Am I not feeling the love anymore? Sometimes I don’t mind “not feeling the love if the smut is good but even that was meh am I broken??
Anyways the other issue I had was the timeline. Honestly I’m not really sure it was an issue, but more a confusion on my end. I know there was an age gap of 9 years, but it was hard for me to place Hiro’s older brothers at the same age as Maddox’s nephew I am assuming it works out since I know Ben had his first kid really early, but it through me for a loop for a bit. ...more

Surprisingly enough though, it’s like everything just fell into place right away.
If you’re reading this for smutty man orgies? Then it’s absolutely perfect. If you’re reading it for plot? Honestly it’s not bad, especially if you’re idea of a good plot included tons of smutty man orgies I’ll admit though, that I’m a little worried on how Beau is going to wrap everything up....more

“We’re going to die. We’re going to die, I chant. Alastair blows off the shards and examines the axe as Elderon darts the wrong way down a highway then jumps over a fence. “Yes, we might, but we will look magnificent when we do it!
Truly, Winters has a skill for OTT banter that just leaves your belly aching from the laughing. And while I absolutely love that, it also means I can’t read to many of her books back to back because they all start to blend and sound the same.
While I enjoyed the whole book, and really enjoyed the aching belly I will say that the romance fell a little flat for me in this one. My favorite part of romance is the build up to it, and this one just didn’t have it IMO....more

I love this series. And I love that with this book we got to meet old friends and new lovers, it was a smooth and easy combination where one didn’t seem to over power the other.
Although this was a story about Malik and Troy’s romance, it was really a deep plot driven adventure of war and Lorcan’s journey to be the prince he needed to be for his people. And again the balance was beautiful, the plot did not take away from the romance and vice-versa.
My only minor dislike for this romance was the push pull romance, but honestly that seems to be this authors forte to I should just get used to it....more

Spoilerish below....
Getting into this book I was a little thrown off. The outline of the story you read in the blurb, literally was done and finished with in the 1st 1/4 of the book and left me wondering how they were going to fill in the remaining of the story.
Unfortunately it was not filled with romance. It was filled with abuse, and forgiveness, segregation from friends/family, more continued abuse and forgiveness, I think we can also put a little humiliation into the mix... and in the end we are given love? More like Stockholm syndrome IMO.
I’ll admit that I did really feel the love towards the end when things take a turn for the worse. But anything before that was just awful, it was not romance, and it was not “being a dominant lover. I am ok with dark romance, but this book was a basic outline of domestic abuse that so many men and women suffer from day to day and romanticizing that just feels wrong.
The author does try to make a point in this book that treating women one was is wrong but it is ok for a man to be treated as such. This is not said specificity to the abuse, but it’s still implied that because he’s a man it’s ok to be treated as such... that just made it so much worse. No one deserves the to treated as such.
Ok anyways, while I was upset with the abuse it’s not the entire reason for my poor review. The writing also had a lot to do with it. There were several editing issues throughout the book, but also the plot and story was to far drawn out in the middle of the book. So much in this book was unnecessary and really just made the story drag. ...more

Anywho I was fully intent on skipping this book until I saw the 3rd installment was Socially Orcward and then I realized I just must read them!
I was more than pleased that this book was just a fun loving book about a doomed rag-tag-bunch rando’s. I loved Loth’s excessive rambling and the banter in this book.
What I really wanted most from this book was Grub’s POV... it really dragged down the book for me.
Premises for this book sounded amazing, but the execution was a pretty flat and one-dimensional for me.

Premises for this book sounded amazing, but the execution was a pretty flat and one-dimensional for me.
That being said if it was shorter I probably would have ended up finishing it. Unfortunately though, this book is the start to a series and you can tell the author felt like they had to introduce all the key players in the first book, which is completely unnecessary. They also decided to insert the foundation for 2 other romances into the first half of this book(Ivan and Jamie + Seth and Gio, could have been more in the 2nd half), also completely unnecessary.
In the end Bruno and Thomaz were my favorite character, and they aren’t even the main character, they are the dog and the cook...
Honestly if I had rated it would have been under 3 stars. I do love it when newer writers of my favorite genre appear though, so I wish the author the best and can’t wait to see how they grow as a writer. ...more

So this romance is the most detached “romance I have ever read, but the kicker is... the detachment was the entire point of Rivers character, it’s his entire persona. So kudos to Beau for attempting to pull it off, really I felt it was incredibly unique in its own way. Unfortunately I feel the story as a while fell very flat and lacked some of the depth I’m used to with their stories.
Either way I’m glad I ready it and for it of my list, it would have drove me crazy knowing I didn’t at least attempt to finish it. ...more

Unfortunately I’m a little gun shy on second chance romances. There are usually big misunderstanding and lots of angst, not really my jam these days. Luckily this book didn’t have any of that. And I’m hoping nothing like that will show up further into the series.
Really I loved everything about this book, the ghosts, the crime solving and mystery, as well at the main characters. Really I would have given it 5 stars except I felt a few things were brought up and then forgotten.
I do hope things get a little spookier as the series goes but that’s just an opinion. ...more

I was kind of on the fence with this one sinceContemporaries are rare for me, but these days I’ll read just about anything that can hold my interest.
I was kind of on the fence with this one since it involved an MC. I prefer pretty low angst books and I feel that you don’t always get that when MC’s are involved. To my full surprise though, this book was incredibly sugary sweet.
I’ll admit I got a little skim happy towards then end. I would say that’s how I feel with most contemporaries once we’ve past the peek, so I really didn’t take anything off of my rating for lack of interest.
Anyways I think the blurb but well enough so I won’t go into a detailed review. ...more
