This "Good" book was "10-Star" good.
This scintillating tale of two men pursuing justice from opposite sides of the law was riveting, compelling, compulsive, and powerful.
It was also intricately plotted, unpredictable, and unputdownable.
And, finally, it was emotionally jolting.
Talented author Suzanne Redfearn wowed me with "In An Instant" and she's done it again.
In her Author's Note, Redfearn reveals this book was her second book penned and had been written many years ago.
I listened to the audiobook read by Curt Bonnem.
Although Bonnem did a superb job with the narration, "Two Good Men" would have benefited from "two good male narrators" since the book unfolded from two male POVs.

A "crash course" synopsis of "The Crash":
* TWs: Infertility, child abuse, mental illness * The first 30% of the book was disappointingly slow. * At 50% in, the book became unputdownable * The book unfolds from the POVs of a pregnant woman and a couple who "rescue" this injured pregnant woman from a snowy car crash and hold this pregnant woman against her will in their basement * Be prepared to GOL (Gasp Out Loud) multiple times * The ending boasts many "Freida twists" and is eye-rolling.
I listened to the audiobook read by Leslie Howard, who did an outstanding job with the narration.

Let "The Sister-In-Law" into your home.
WARNING: The sister-in-law is a sinner but the book is a winner.
THE BOOK BEGINS WITH A BANG: A young couple's car veers off the road and plunges into a river.
The husband dies.
Miraculously, the wife swims to safety.
When the husband's estranged sister appears at his funeral, this intricately plotted thriller takes on a life of its own.
Primarily unfolding from the two POVs of the wife and the sister-in-law, this twisty thriller never misses a beat.
Author Joanne Ryan writes about the darker, secret side of the lives of seemingly ordinary people and this book is my favorite Joanne Ryan book to date.
I listened to the audiobook read by Sophie Mackall, Gemma Lawrence, and Julie Maisey.
I always enjoy multi-cast audiobooks and all three narrators did a superb job with the narration.
WHY? 1) The audiobook was read by Will Damron, one of my favorite narrators.
2) The book received stella I expected to give "Beartooth" a GRRReat review.

2) The book received stellar reviews.
3) I am a boy-mom and I was instantly intrigued by the book's compelling premise:
Two brothers desperate for money are approached by a shadowy out-of-towner who convinces them to attempt a heist of natural resources from Yellowstone, a federal crime.
WHAT HAPPENED? I am an impatient reader/listener.
Waaaaay too much time was spent on characterizations, the bond between the two brothers, and the Yellowstone atmosphere.
I was more interested in the dynamics of the heist.
Although the book was well written, I prefer faster-paced books with early action.
Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

One of the mom's sons is adopted.
I listened to the book's audio version that included 12 hours of audio. The book was very, very slow-paced and repetitive and could have easily been an 8-hour audiobook -- with no information lost.
The story is unveiled through the POV of the mother (Jessica) and correspondence between Jessica's son's and husband's birthmothers. Readers also hear updates from police investigators as well as information about random women. When the book ends, readers learn the significance of the random women. Issues about adoption are also explored in depth.
I struggled to finish this book and was only able to do so because the narration was excellent. Although the author's character development was strong and the book's premise was compelling -- the execution was poor and, therefore, this book was a 2-star read (rounded up) for me.

BEWARE: This pacey, twisty, and intricately plotted thriller is A baby girl is abducted from a quiet Boston suburb in broad daylight.
Who did it and why?
BEWARE: This pacey, twisty, and intricately plotted thriller is set in Massachusetts and features more red herrings than the Massachusetts seafood restaurant chain Legal Seafoods.
Even though the book is #3 in the author's Rita Myers series, it is a standalone read.
I was not a fan of Rita Myers Book #1, but this book wowed me.
I especially enjoyed the way the story unfolded from alternating POVs: Nathan (the baby's father), Eve (the baby's mother), and Rita (police).
WHY NOT 5 STARS? The book's ending was OTT and the final twists were contrived and eye-rolling.
I listened to the audiobook read by Christina Moore, Rebecca Quinn Robertson, and Nick Mills.
Narrators reading the roles of Nick and Rita did a superb job.
The narrator reading Eve's role was lackluster and frequently mumbled.

"The Switch" was a switch for me.
Usually, I stay far, far away from husband-swapping thrillers.
Yet, from page one, debut author Lily Samson wowed me and I was instantly hooked.
BEWARE: Although the book is well-written and entertaining, it requires a HUGE suspension of disbelief.
WHY? The book's premise is absolutely, positively ludicrous: Two wives decide to switch husbands on multiple nights, without their husbands' knowledge.
THE PLAN? To have sex in the dark with the husband. And to have these sexual encounter "switches" multiple times.
(Huh???)
As both wives engage in this twisty game, secrets are revealed, and the insanity of the plot increases exponentially.
I listened to the audiobook expertly narrated by Avita Jay and Polly Edsell.
Although both narrators did a superb job, both voices were very similar and I would have enjoyed the book more with two distinct voices....more
