It’s been a few years since I’ve read Beartown. When the “triquel� came out, I knew I had to move the sequel up.
It all came back to me in a flurry. The loveable tough characters, the hockey culture; the good in the hood; the bad in the Hed. The brokenness of the team and the townspeople, given the history in the last story. It continues its destructive path.
Backman’s flawless writing is stunning as usual.
How he takes you in, wraps these characters around you and you are them. And then it’s Us against You.
